You see the odd opposition supporter in the new red seats Level 1, (we're in N54)but the attendants on the gate are pretty strict about who they let in.

It seems there are a few of us around the same area in the N53-N54 area of the new stand (I am in N54 too). A nice little PRE group. Those sections were pretty deserted at the beginning of the Pies game - it was so wet and cold, well at least until we started whooping 'em.

Yes Panthera.... but we paid for under cover seats! ( Club is aware of the problem....the MCG gave us bad advice it seems.)

Well i guess that makes us the damp N54 Gas-Man Fan Club! :clap :clap

Yay!

We had seats bout 3 or 4 rows from the front, forward pocket wingish southern stand side-But we had the most feral Tiger member who sat a couple of rows behind us.He used to really go off something shocking.

We decided not to renew our reserved seats due to the torrent of abuse, really bad swearing (I'm no shrinking violet, But man, he was bad) Kicking of the seats and bottle throwing. He also used to sneak opposition supporters in as well and let them mouth off when they were winning. We contacted the club, but they said they couldn't really do anything about him, just tell the attendant or police if it got too bad.But we never did. You don't like to dob in a fellow member, but he certainly spoilt the footy for us on a few occasions. I'm a gold member, but I just sit anywhere now or buy a guest pass and sit in the MCC with my husband, who is an MCC member.I must say I miss being able to rock up late and be assured of a seat, but its no good if you don't have good people to sit around you, or you are stuck with them year in year out.

I must be in the minority of people that actually enjoy sitting amongst opposition supporters and enjoying the banter with them.

I think you would be in the majority. Nothing better than having someone (say an Essendon supporter at half time in 95 second semi) talking to their mates about who they are going to play next week and then let them know all about it and wave them goodbye. Pretty similar situation against Collingwood a few weeks back.

For many years I've been complaining the fact I buy a Richmond membership to sit amongst Richmond supporters.

Should people lend their memberships to non-Richmond supporters, their memberships should be terminated. Yes, I am a hard man, but too many idiots are around in the Richmond reserved areas.

I also sit in section N54 and at all Richmond home games, their have been oppersition supporters sitting in the here.

Richmond footy club should pull their finger out and do something about non-Richmond supporters sitting in a Richmond reserved area. I know for fact there are many un-sold Richmond reserved tickets in the area I sit in. A friend went and bought a reserved ticket and ended up 4 rows in front of myself. Why doesnt the club give the better seats to the Richmond faithful ?

Next year I am considering ditching the reserved seating base on the fact there is no difference between sitting in the public area and reserved seating area.

What a lot of rot.
Reserved seats give you the freedom to turn up to the game at any time and get in and have a seat.
If you do not want this freedom don't get one and miss out on that game when the tigers are back in town.

I'll keep getting my membership, just not with a reserved seat.

Anyway, I am a MCG member and could do what some most MCG members do and not bother with the club membership at all.

However, my son really looks forward to going to the footy and I am a strong believer of supporting the club.

Its frustrating how other supporters are allowed in the Richmond reserved area.

Might have to do what The Foxhat does and go where the Grog Squad are. My son loves going by the grog squad area.

What have you got against opposition supporters and why shouldnt they be allowed to sit there. And if someone has paid good money for a reserved seat and cant attend for some reason why shouldnt they be allowed to give their ticket to a friend who might be keen to go? Gets the crowd numbers up too.

Reserved Seating always causes me concern.

Too many times I see a group of people give all their memberships to one person and they walk out then bring in several more people.

I dread rocking up to a game and someone sitting in my seat.

Against the dees, the woman in front put her coat over about 5 seats, 20 minutes later, people i had never seen before were sitting there, at the end of a match i saw a melbourne supporter hand back a membership to a RFC supporter.

It wouldnt be a problem if all the reserved seats were full every home game.

There will always be people that buck the system, there are too many easy ways to get into places.

I agree with you on that one Shawry.
If, for some reason, I couldn't attend a game (and that would be most rare)....its ME who has spent the money on memberships and reserved seats to do as I very well please!

Nwonash,
If you want to be harsh mate...get harsh on the bloody attendants at the Dome and at the 'G, who seem to let people in Richmond members areas who have no ticket of any description, and I find in my seat >:(....and then 30-minutes later, the same attendants are hassling me, with a Tigers footy jumper on, 4 beers in hand, and been sitting in the same seats for night on 10 years, asking to see my membership card! ::) >:(
Get harsh on them, not the members who just want to get their moneys worth out of their membership by lending it to mates/family when they can't go to the game themselves.
