PUNT ROAD END | Richmond Tigers Forum
First off let me say that I’m not sure whether this subject has been discussed before on PRE. If it has, well it needs talking about again.
I post in regard to the current Richmond member seating arrangement at the G'. The main aspect that we look forward to as Richmond members, apart from showing our full support to the team through purchasing the membership, is to sit amongst our fellow supporters for home games, in a strictly Richmond members only area.
However this season, more so than at any other time in my 11yrs of being a member I have noticed a high amount of non Richmond members sitting in OUR area.
I can only assume from what I have observed, that having purchased a general admission ticket or using their own clubs membership cards these scum attain entry into our area.
This situation mainly perpetuates due to the ability of these people to enter into our seating area via access of another seating area (general admission), which doesn’t require tickets to be checked at the seating area gate. They then flow on into our reserved seating area upon seeing empty seats. A contributing factor may also be the MCG staff not fulfilling their roles in checking where people should be sitting, however I believe my first point to be more accurate to the problem.
I also stress the use of other clubs membership cards to gain access. Upon addressing one man over why he was sitting our area, he showed us his membership card, which was of the opposing team. (He moved off after receiving a verbal spray)
How can this occur? And why? I cant remember this situation occurring back in the old ‘red seats’ and for memory the MCG staff were more vigilant in checking memberships back then.
Why is this annoying? Well it’s more than annoying, it simply brings sheer frustration to my dad and I, not to mention other people who sit near us, and have to put up with this crap. (Special mention to the two ladies in front of us)
The fact is we have paid our money to sit in a strictly designated tiger zone, free of other club supporters and as part of 'our contract' as being a member to this club.
It is frustrating that these 'blow ins' turn up time and time again when under no means are they worthy to sit in the reserved area.
My dad and I sit in section M10 of the Great Southern Stand. I’m not sure whether this situation occurs in your reserved area of the stadium, but can only presume that we are not the only ones suffering.
What infuriates the situation further is that when the scum are made to move on they show no sense of remorse and usually depart whilst trying to give us a spray.
I can’t stand to hear another clubs supporter cheering their team whilst sitting in an area that is reserved for our home games.
