Rex was on today (3aw) talking about the presidency. basically he wont take it - well not right now anyway, but he didnt reject the idea that he may take up the role in future. He clearly stated that he would need good people around to help him out if he did it. Im guessing that Rex will wait maybe 12 months to 2 years, wait until Miller fixes up the list a little bit then ride in when things will start to get rolling.

Right now isnt the best time to boot Casey out anyway, the guy along with Iain Campbell have stitched up some of the biggest sponsorship deals in AFL history,so lets just leave them do that for now.

No disrespect to Rex as he would be the best PR machine next to Eddie Collingwood. But Casey has done a magnificient job in starting to stabilise the club for its long term future. And then to have any suggestion that as soon as he gets it right we kick those people out and replace them with High profile people would sending the club back to the dark ages. If Casey resigns on his own accord, I say fine. My vote would still be with Casey if it came to a vote... Alah Mal Brown attempts. The main reason we couldn't secure a elite coach (Malthouse) was because of the board back then. Money was not the issue to the coach, the enviroment was.
  • Look at Collingwood now. Yet now we tend to forget. Eddie swooped and signed him up mid year because RFC then where to worried about quick fixes and long contracts on players which to this day we are paying the price. They are on the right track. Lets not derail the club again.

Damn fat woman came in today and step on my hand when trying on shoes that where 2 sizes too small.
Sold 3 pairs of shoes this week. An all time high..

;D 8) :-*

I only heard part of the this topic on 3AW yesterday but one thing that stood out me was that Rex said that "there isn't much wrong off the field at th Richmond Football Club at the moment"

It's hard to say where off field ends and on field begins sometimes.

Sure we're getting sponsors etc. That's all well and good but somewhere it has to translate into onfield performance.

I don't want to be a member of a very rich perennial bottom of the ladder side.

The president and board must have some responsibility for "on field" issues too, and the ladder and list show that we're not very successfual at all.

Football is a business now, and if a business doesn't perform because of incompetant personal or shoddy workers, the responsibility comes back on those at the top.
