RFC Future is Bright

Gus, there are ways to do things and there are ways to just *smile* it up. He did when it came to the way he handled Gas.

Its not about the coach getting told what to do, its him trying to get belief and trust. All the senior playing group would have been thinking they had question marks on their heads too! He didnt handle that well at all, he lost players there, I've been involved with footy teams, I've only seen a coach lose the group once and that was from little things that built up. The player isnt as big as the club, but respect is what its about and he wasnt shown any at all. No coach does that to their champions, not mid-year! He was there to show guys like McGuane and Thursfield the ropes, who do they have to lend them a hand now? Polak? The Ben Cousins of Freo last year? Fair enough, 3 games before the years end let the players know, next year you wont be given a go, either walk out or stay on for the ride, he told Gaspar this 3 games into the year. He never gave Andy Kellaway a send off he deserved.

Its an on going thing with Wallace, he isnt consistant with his words or his actions, you rebuild, you do that from day one. What, where the first 2 years a sample test? He wants youth and then plays Kingsley.

In relation to the topic, I havent seen or maybe I cant remember darker days at the club on the field. I mention on the field, because for some reason Greg Miller always likes to talk about the premiership team we have on the board. I can tell you from first hand evidence, even they run for cover when things go bad. They answered all my questions when things looked exciting in the preseason.

Come on Hells, think of the names:

Anthony Banik, Paul Barlow, Terry Keays, Greg Hamilton, Allan McKellar, Michael Laffy, Paul Bullus, John Howat, Adam Houlihan, Richard Lounder, Steve McKee, Wayne Peters, Ashley Prescott, Steven Sziller, Luke Weller, Brian Winton, Matthew Francis, David Bourke, Richard Geary, Gary Frangalas... - on and on and on it goes.

Can't believe we've had NO success...! :hihi :help

Beg to differ in regards to Hamilton, McKellar, Peters and Presrs... very servicable players in my book

Unfortunately 'servicable' doesn't get you anywhere.

can we please stop crying about Gas?!?!?  the guy is too old and too slow for the modern game, and in wonderful hindsight should have been delisted last season

As for what the club owes him, they owe him nothing.  I keep hearing people say we need to make the tough decisions, but we then cry when club heroes are discarded when their use-by date is clearly up.
