PUNT ROAD END | Richmond Tigers Forum

I watched Port Melb dismantle the Coburg tigers today and I have the following to report & IMO i cant figure why we would persist with older players who just do not do the right thing by the RFC, and we neglect young players.

I acknowledge there is a topic on Bowden & Pets but this is a little different
J.Bowden in phases showed experience of an AFL footballer but thats about it, seriously he does not look like he is interested
K.Pettifer kicked a couple and muffed a few goals in selfish manner and looked terrible
Both players should not warrant a call up to the firsts...NO way in hell

We have players like polo, connors, collins, cotchin (who definately will debut within a month...class all class) hughes, jackson etc etc, all who I would pick before bowden, Pettifer, Tivendale maybe even hyde.

We persisted/forced with Patto last year into every game, and look what its done he has improved and clear in our top 5 players this year.

At 3 quarter time of this game I saw something that warmed my heart and the future blinked before my eyes
Jack, Patto, meyer all RAN over to pat and encourage Cleve Hughes it was like a real tight knit botherhood mentality it was clearly obvious and clearly we have to play all these boys together..............it is not about bleeding youngers no more, its about forming a CORE that will grew to understand each other, fight and fight and win together.....This is how flags are won!!!!

In short I have had it with half arsed performances from our seniors when I know we have kids with ability that truely love each other and want to make the RFC successful again.
