I keep hearing on the radio, TV, and reading in the newspapers that us feral and membership burning Richmond Football Club members need to calm down FOR ONCE, and be patient. Had a brief think about that, and....
Spud Frawley - Topped up when we were not there yet, which even he admitted with hindsight was a major error. This combined with the dud run of draft selections..... He had a 5 year contract and served out the full contract. To date I am yet to hear anyone say he deserved a 6th year.
The Geish - Got a few nice wins early, but tactically was predictable and this worked against us the longer he stayed on. AGAIN, I have never heard anyone say he deserved another year.
Walls - Great coach, but honest enough to admit he came to us without his heart in it. Openly says now he shouldn't have been brought on in the first place, and his dismissal was inevitable. We were bagged for dumping him
Northey - Why do people keep saying we dumped him....he left us!
Jeans - Left due to illness,
Bartlett - The only person in hindsight who thinks KB still deserved another stint is KB
I will give the bashers credit, we were pretty coach sacking happy in the 80's, but I again ask, in hindsight which of those lot up there deserved another year (excluding those of course who walked)?
Since 85ish I have been sold the line of patience, restructure, rebuilding, and recruitment. It has not paid off yet, but I like most of you keep buying my ticket and showing the patience we all get accused of not having.
Sorry for the whine (esp for a first post), but after hearing the dribble on the radio today I hit my breaking point :spin
