RFC Survey

Yesterday I received an email advising me there would shortly be an online survey to complete but I have not received the real thing yet.

Completed the survey this morning.

I didn't know who our major sponsor was?
Perhaps the merchandise dept. can show us next year.

Same. I got the email telling me there would be another email with a link to the survey. Seen bugger all since.

Got one. Nothing major. Does ask for ratings G & then also the Dump. Their service ratngs & performance of the baord. 1 to 10 scale

A tad dissappointed with the survey that it did not provide a section for interstate and overseas members - it appears the RFC does not see any value in such members - unlike the Bombers and the Pies who are using their Web Sites to generate revenue from their overseas and interstate members.

I guess I am yelling screaming into a void - but IMO there is at least $1m per annum in membership fees and Tiger-online shop sales that are going begging.

Plus, I cannot see how an interstate or overseas member can have an opinion on which ground the MCG or Telstra Dome is easier to get too - they are both the same taxi ride from Tullermarine after a bloody expensive air fare.

I could also be mistaken that this survey is in fact run by the RFC - is it possible that the AFL who runs the RFC Web Site and Membership games tickets sales as I understand it - could be running the survey?

Disallusioned interstate RFC member - who will remain a member because of his love for all things yellow and black not because of the service received.......RT

My survey wouldn't let me fill in the questions about the names and products of our sponsors. I hope no one else has the same problem as we need to show high member awareness of our sponsors if we want to get top $$$ iin future sponsorships.

I did not have that problem.

Did you double click on the email before filling it out instead of just doing it from the small email window?

If so then that may be why, otherwise I dont know.

Have we heard anything official about the financial situation of the club? All I can remember is a comment or two in journo articles. I was going to answer "don't know" to the question but even if we have improved since last year we still should be a lot better off considering our large supporter base and marketable brand.
Can't wait till we're a financial power and our on-field performances. At least we're on the right track now.....I hope.

I have been to a couple of President's lunches this year and the financial situation has been discussed but not in great detail.

"There will be a $2M turnaround" in the fortunes of the Club according to both our CEO and VP. That's the party line to be quoted consistently so expect to hear more of it in coming weeks/months.

We are at a near break even position for season 2005. This year we have:
- better funds from members (a record number and a greater profit margin, no sunglasses)
- larger funds from sponsors (AFG) and coterie groups
- ordinary gaming revenues (in the mid 90's these contributed much more to our coffers)
- tighter control over our costs (salary cap)

Stand to be corrected here, but I think this company runs similar surveys for most clubs, and survey questions are pretty much standardised. Certainly the Carlton one is 'word for word' the same as ours on the introductory email (except for the filthy blue letterhead).
