RFC we have a problem

As I said,

Who's to say yes or no?

Maybe Rawlings, as much as ourselves, can see too that some players have more of a future than others.

Who's to say which is the better direction.

I'm sure we'll all be certain in a couple of years time, retrospectively.

Isn't what you're doing though a pretty passive-aggressive way of saying you think he is being selfish in not tanking? If there was no question to ask, why do you need to ask it?

If you think Jade is coaching for himself and against the long term future of the club, at least say so.

1. Rawlings doesn't solely pick the side.
2. He is undoubtedly following a strategy agreed to by the club. Why should he tank when he's been directed not to.

Seriously, some of you guys should step back and listen to yourselves.

From what I can see, Rawlings has done a few simple things. He has asked players to be accountable for their man, he has emphasised tackling, smothering and sacrificial acts and he has tried to get the players to work cohesively together. He encourages those who do what he asks and whacks those who don't, or can't, or won't, or would rather not.

Ever Bambi McMahon is gritting his teeth, screwing up his face and taking body contact. Anyone watching would be forgiven for thinking he was eating Brussels sprouts.

You know, the same things that Wallace wouldn't do that annoyed you so much.

Surely we should be pleased that someone has taken this stance.

Seriously, Rawlings has a brief opportunity to show his worth. Of course he will take it and try to make the most of it. Their are 17 coveted jobs in this country, captain of the Aussie Cricket Team and the 16 AFL coaches. What would you do if you had a tenth of a shot at landing one of them?

We've had enough clowns in charge of our great club. At least he is trying to do something better.

Well said mate. Give me a champion team anyday.

If we get a top 10 pick that would do me we have a good list just need a great coach and a smart president would help the off field gang hope less. Lets beat the filth. Jade in a stuff spot the scum cheating comes natural.

Vickery at pick 8 looks like an absolute steal. His weaving through traffic on saturday had me salvitating. Performed admirably against ryder who is years ahead in development and looks like he'll end up being a better player than Natanui IMO. Still early days I know but some good signs there.

I don't see where trying to win games is a problem, not the way Rawlings is doing it. There was open speculation by the guys doing the VFL on the ABC Saturday about why Tuck was dropped. They did everything but actually say the 't' word. What I think is happening is that they know Tuck and probably Graham will be on the list next season and so they're putting them back to the VFL for a week or two and putting in a couple who may or may not make it. From what I saw yesterday the team is doing many of the things that Wallace was criticised for not doing, so where is the problem?

everyone knows my stance on the process the club needed to take for the rest of this season.i believe we are so bad that we are in for more of the same next yr as well. and likely the yr after that. and yep we have some promising kids but so do all other teams.

the one thing they have primarily got right is giving games to the kids.

personally blokes like mcmahon brown king pattison silvestor and 3 or 4 others should not be getting games. at least the pleasing thing is some youngsters are showing enough to suggest they belong at this level. the tanking process is all about throwing the kids in the deepend and seeing if they can swim and those who show they can cope getting games into them.

what never ceases to amaze is how blind the ferals get after a win. only time will tell if winning late games this season is the right process. we have now gone down this path so i can only take it to mean the club thinks we are a finals side next yr. we continue to take the same path we have always taken we forever live in never never land.

i now wonder how many the club will clean out i can see them turning over no more than 5 or 6 and useing just 4 nd picks. we will see.

yep the rfc does indeed have a problem it is committed to the now and mediocrity. it has been for the last 25yrs.

I supported us losing games in 2007 as it was the early stages of rebuilding (3rd year of an 8 year plan).

Now we are during the critical phase of the 8 year plan (I say 8 years because that's how long it took Geelong and Hawthorn did it in 7 - the model we are following).

We have enough talent to work with now. The cupboard is bare at Coburg, so we just need more depth of picks, so we have real competition for spots all over the ground.

We needed Ben Cousins because our biggest hurdle now is jumping the mental barriers that have constipated this club for decades.

We need to be winning games now so the likes of Deledio, Tambling, Cotchin, etc can genuinely develop an implicit belief that we are on the right path.

If our players do not have winning embedded so deep into their brains that all of their subconsious actions are not aiming to help them constantly win, we'll never take home a flag with this group.

Gotta love the Cuz... he's instilling that winning implant chip into their brains.

44 players with a deep inner belief we are on the right track >>>> the difference from picks 2 - pick 7 + 2nd round PP.

yes but how much better would it have been if it was vickery and rich.

Never thought I would see MP being negative ! Hindsight is a wonderful thing but without a crystal ball, I think Rawlings should play the kids, in their right positions, get them chasing and tackling and play as a team.

Then we don't need 2 years for hindsight - they can learn and we can watch them and judge for ourselves where we will be in a couple of years !

HMM AGREE ON VICKERY LOOKS PROMISING. on ryder hes a kp hes playing ruck because their ruckmen are all injured. personally i think ryder should be their future chf.

The 'problem' is that we have been trying hard to win every week since Jade stepped up into the senior gig... no tanking at the RFC by jingo. Now 4 1/2 wins and 12th on the ladder, maybe a couple more wins around the corner before the season is out! :P

retrospectivly eh ghost. i can see the feral posts now in a yr or two. yep that fine with hindsight. retrospective will become hindsight.it always does theres no winning with the ferals. we finish 9th and 12 coming of a spoon and we have bottomed out. never mind the list is in disarray.
