I will start the discussion off naturally - I thought we did well. My reasons are as follows:
Trading Period
I like the pick of Bowden, Doggie subsidised ready made player, cheap as. He has a year to prove himself or its the axe - very little downside. Naturally I am disappointed that Miller wasn't rushed off his feet fielding offers for a few of our players (we all know who they are) but I suppose we can't have everything.
National Draft
We picked for pace after the good talls were gone, we got a great pick up in Hughes who from the chat seemed the next best tall after Dowling with our 24th pick and to hear (2nd hand) how Miller went on about Casserley he seemed a good pick up as well.
Pre-Season Draft
I simply thank the good lord that we decided upon a first round rookie as our PSD pick. People can debate which player should have been taken but passing would have been a waste of a N0. 5 pick. Went for speed again - can't be bad. No recycled duds on full pay.
Rookie Draft
Took the best tall available with our first pick, info says he is raw - sounds like an ideal rookie pick. I can undertand why the club picked up Humm, presumably gives the club flexibility and a ready made defender if we need one. Not too sure about Howat, Phantom reckons we could have done better (and he might be right).
We got a forward, two talls, two speedsters, a small defender, an enduro midfielder and of those a couple of ready made 24 year old mature types. Pretty much everything on Wallace's shopping list. A pity about missing out on Dowler but that's life. We did OK. Which is a bloody relief and a change. (And we didn't break the piggy bank either.)
A warm wlcome to the new tigers. :gotigers
