Ricciuto retires

Good one him for not sucking the club dry like a few other players in the AFL this year. Roo was such a tough player and there was no one who could intimidate him. He has done everything possible in footy so he wouldnt have any regrets.

Have a beer for roo! :clap

GUN

hard as nails, inspirational leader and could *smile* play footy!

all the best roo

He's been battling the odds for a while - missed 18 games in the last 12 months. Not how great players should bow out.

309 game though so he's had a good run

he was killing it as a forward last year and got that pavo thing heading into finals which was the beginning of the end

You "always" have to respect skill, tenacity, and genuine leadership capacity, regardless of age or external perception. Above all, results on field for this bloke are amongst the very best. He is one opposition player I have enjoyed watching.

I wonder if he could be enticed to RFC's Football Department .................

You're right about him having a good run, he only missed 14 games out of 304 up to early 2006. Unlucky in that the 14 included all four Adelaide finals in 1997.

Super star.

A poor mans Leigh Matthews. Leigh was almost the best ever so that is no put down at all.

A Great competitor, true professional and wonderful wonderful footballer.

8 x All Australian - Premiership player, Skipper and Brownlow medalist - says it all.

A real leader not like the pretenders at Punt Road.

Well done Roo on a great career. :clap :clap
