jeez interesting question.

I think the 2017 momentum was invincible.

2017 by 10 points. George kicked 6.1

2019 all the way. Just a lot more balanced. In 2017 we got away with a very new game plan that the opposition really couldn't work out or fathom. This year we had a game plan that all the opposition knew exactly how it worked but could do nothing to stop it.

Not sure Nankervis could handle the Nankervis Soldo combination. And Lynch.

2019 Dusty < 2017 Dusty on the whole but GF performance pretty equal. Prestia in dynamite form, and Pickett. And Baker. And Lynch again.

2019 Tigers by 3 goals for mine.

I’d back 2019. I think the in’s are better than the outs, with the exception of Rance. We took what we developed in 2017, and refined and improved on it.

2019 team was better than the 2018 team and the 2018 team was better than the 2017 imo (despite not winning the flag in 2018).

can't split 'em. On paper, and in classical footy theory, 19 with the twin towers, but our gameplan of 1 tall and pressure mosquito fleet in 17 will be remembered forever for its audacity, chaos and relentlessness, it took everybody off guard, amazing coaching and execution.

This reminds of when Bob Davis was asked if the '89 geelong side would have beaten his early 50s flag side, he said 'probably, but we're getting on a bit'.

Natural improvement and enhanced finals experience says 2019. But it's a bit like asking which of your kids do you love most.

2017 our game plan was streets ahead of the competition. 2019 team was more talented with a system just a bit better than the rest. Practically the 2019 talent and game plan takes care of the 2017 team - because it has evolved.

Wonder if we will see the same in 2020 again?

-Tinker?
-Same?
-Evolve and be a leader of the pack and confuse the competition more?
-how the loss of Blake will be felt?

Some more questions I have?

2017 team was more hungry and more ferocious. no team could play against us as we would harass, chase and tackle in waves, like a mad pack or wolves. we were relentless and hard.
2019 team is more refined and have a better understanding of the game plan. changing the play up, controlling it, slowing it down, but also ready to flick the switch and then move it fast. still has that pressure and tackling, 1%ers too, which i believe is one of the most vital things they have.
But 2017 team was manic and nobody was ready or could handle this!

Blake will be a big loss i reckon. i believe he was a big part of our manic quick movement attacking game style.
we should be okay as we have been playing this for the best part of 3 years but the tinkering with this style might be where we miss him..

We seem to adopt a gameplan to suit our personnel. Who oversee's these matters? Caracella? If so, we could feel the loss somewhat.
