I have a suspicion that there is more to Kane's behaviour than meets the eye.

Is it the case that Kane's wife is a police officer as I read on another thread?

Kane is not an idiot. No sane person would *smile* on a police station unless he was trying to make a point. It has been suggested that Kane was making a point when he kicked the wrong way at the commencement of our Rd 1 game last year??

I

As conspiracy theories go, I think these two may be a stretch

Could you please explain what those two points might be?

It was suggested on PRE after last years Carlton Rd 1 that Kane was at loggerheads with Wallace about his treatment of Andy Kellaway and some of our older players. It was also suggested that Kane's error was deliberate. I havn't the slightest evidence to support this. But it was said.

I have no idea if, as has been suggested, Kane's wife is a police officer? If she is a cop then I would like to hear that Kane's totally inexplicable behaviour, has absolutely no connection with his wife's employment.

Love the conspiracy theory Momentai.

I voted for Newman - he is a gun player who takes the game on and is as brave as hell. Our skipper has comprimised his leadership and should step aside.

For the kick, there are better ways to protest than to make yourself a human punchline (people were still speculating about him kicking the right way at the start of 08), but as you said it was purely PRE inuendo.

As for the station, he lives next door and apparently when down the side street thinking it was "just" a wall not realizing it was the coppers. Dumb error to not realize, but if you have had a slab or two commonsense can take a back seat.

If sugar were to step down as captain. Richo should get it. Richo is the spiritual leader at the club and has been there every week playing 110% and wears his heart on his sleve. It is time to give him a chance if the oppurtunity arises. The vice captains to me need a year at least to get the experience in the leadership group and then later on they will make great captains for the Richmond footy club.

Whats the world coming to when a man cant take a slash in his front yard after a *smile* up in the middle of the night

Been thinking about this.

If you are not smart enough not to take a whizz on the cop shop then you are probally not the right person to lead a AFL club.

Don't wnat him Gaspar'd, the fine, sitting out this week and dropping him away from the leadership group is enough.

I voted for Newmo, I think it's a bit early for him though I have been outspoken here about Johnno as (a poor) captain.

Now though he seems an inspired choice. I can't think of another club that could lose it's captain so early in the season and not lose some skill, leadership, composure and performance! :hihi

Ciao Captain Kane :wave Miss you. :-*

Thankgod the club are not going to relinquish his captaincy. We dont need more turmoil at the club.
Exactly. Why feed the beast of the media by making more of it than necessary. He has an exemplary record, has dealt with it strongly and decisively. Let the poor bugger take his medicine and get on with life. Then we can shut up and get back to letting out actions do the talking. I'm no Sugar advocate - think he's just a footballer - but the wild overreaction to this is a fraction ridiculous.

Agree.

What is Terry's stance on this? Is he comfortable with his players getting sloshed during the season when his neck is on the line? Does he even know about it? If not, then it's poor player management all round.

Agreed there are still questions to answer, was Tuesdays with Terry today? Anyone know if anything was asked?
