Surely this is a likely scenario, albeit too good to be true for the Tigers.

West Coast want Carlton to give up picks 1 & 3.
Carlton will not give up Kreuzer.
Richmond say to Carlton well just take pick 3 and will let Judd slip past us in the PSD.
West Coast try to deal Judd elsewhere but he veto's every other deal.

Too easy.

The only thing stopping it would be 1) Judd's reluctance to screw West Coast and 2) the AFL not ratifying it.

Hate to burst your bubble Mav, but this scenario has been spoken about in the Judd thread many many times...

Been asleep for the past week have we Mav? ;D

Slot it in the Judd thread with the rest of them Rosy

And then the punchline is we take Judd with pick 1 in the PSD anyway.
Wouldn't Cartoon fans just love us after that.

Oooooo, I love it when they hate.

Doh, this is what you get for going on holidays and not staying up with the news. My bad, and such a good idea too!

Merge these redundant ramblings please Rosy! :-[

why only get pick 3 to bypass judd?

i know i'd prefer judd over pick 3. at least ask for pick 3 and 20 as a minimum. or pick 3 and kennedy

anything less and we may as well just take Judd ourselves

We're all deluded around here, Miller is trying to negotiate an exchange of second & third round draft choices for MM and in the process will probably spill the beans on CM at pick 2 clearing the passage for Carlton to get the Judd deal across the line on the basis WCE will still get their target with pick 3.

Day 1 and I've lost interest, I'm convinced Miller is out to destroy this club. It is blantly obvious that with he at the helm we will never embrace the draft process. Three picks in the top twenty should be preserved (except for exceptional circumstances), exceptional Mitch Morton is not. An exchange of second & third round picks with a club that finished some 12 places above us is the equivalent of trading a second round draft choice........unbelievable, just plain unbelievable for a player who has declared RFC as his prefered destination in a year we hold the 1st ick in the preseason draft, I'm convinced Miller couldn't negotiate the preverbial ____ in a brothel! >:(

Agree. That is a scary prospect.

And please. please, please don't take Morton with 2. We overlooked Nathan Jones & Shaun Higgins for a skinny flanker without a post in 2005 and what are we about to do in 2007 overlook Trent Cotchin for a skinny flanker without a true position.

What is wrong with old fashioned footballers? We get blokes who would flunk AUskick 101 but they can run and jump.

Oh its just so easy from here aint it? Carlton or West Coast will only consider a plan with the Tigers if their own negotiations fail. Until then there is jack Miller can do. You're asking for a miracle at this early stage. How on earth would West Coast know what we plan on picking at #2? Because we're after MM? And even if they did, if they were so keen on a particular player, would they risk thinking they know? Starting to wonder who's the deluded one.

Pretty simple from where I sit, back your judgement and pick the best available with picks 2, 18, 19 & 35, but then again I may be asking for a miracle as you put it, we are talking of G Miller!

Tigers must trade up 18 with a player to get a top 10-12 pick which will give them a shot at Rance.

Imagine snaring Cotchin, Rance and say a Pears with an Adcock or Wood now thats 5 players that address depth structure and need.

Other picks later could grab a young ruck and another midfielder.

The Rookie list must target talls also with 2 taken.

The days of drafting 1 or 2 talls and hoping they come on and realising after 4 years they arent any good yet keeping them must be left behind.

If the Tigers think another slow, suspect kicking 191 cm defender in Silvester is the answer im gonna spew blood.

That we are...Nathan Brown, Troy Simmonds and Graham Polak ring a bell...all in the trading period i might add....tell me a club in the last 5 years which has equalled or bettered that?

Brown came cheaply did he? And "5 year deals" grow on trees do they? And of course, Polak...well, let's just wait and see and hope like 'ell Jack develops into a very good player!

Any hoodwink can strike a deal if your willing to bare your ar$e....ever stop and consider that other clubs haven't "equalled or bettered that" because they embrace the concept of the draft....or why having done so well, why we finished last on the ladder? :help
