I made the trip to QV afl world today, took the grandparents for a day out. Thought there was a good tiger exhibition on as it was advertised in the paper, and id heard the word it was gonna be a good thing to see.

Wow.

What a dissapointment. I have more on show in my shrine than what was at this 'exhibition'. All they had was the 80 premiership cup, mcguanes jumper and signed picture, 73 weg poster and pennant, 4 richo pics, 5 footy records from the 70's, 5 photos of current day players and thats it!! That is what i payed $13 for. I couldve stayed at home and stared at my collection and it wouldve generated more interest.

Afl world as a whole was ok, good if you had kids.
Just wondering if any other tigers had been along to this and what they thought??

I've been to the AFL Sensation, or whatever its called.

I was there with someone from overseas, so it was pretty good to give them an introduction to the game, and a bit of interaction, before we went to see the Tigers play.

Like you said, good if you had kids as well.

(Personally, didn't mind the kicking for goal simulator. 8))

Which premiership cups do you have, the Carlton ones that were knocked off a few years ago?   :P

It does sound a bit disappointing for $13. Does anyone know who's getting the money, e.g. RFC, AFL or other?

I am stunned the wooden spoons over the last 25 years weren't on display! If the exhibition was of the recent Tiger history perhaps they could have had a wax replica of Danny Frawley next to them.

Might have to send you my $13 for saving me the trouble of getting all the way into into the city to be let down.
Had the day off work today and was posing with the idea of checking it out.
Was advertised almost everyday in the Sun.
Maybe they should spend the $$ on getting everything ready for the new museum. Speaking to Ron last time, they have stacks of stuff in storage that they dont have the room to display. Looking forward to checking out all the old stuff.
I really hope the effort is put in to convey the tiger spirit of yesteryear.
It should be used as a gee-up for current players, show them what it means to be a tiger.

i imagine being that it was the smallest exhibition of all time, that the AFL world keep all revenue. If it was a major exhibition like our mueseum, youd expect something from it.

What did you expect? We've won jack schyte for the last 26 years and all we could put on show is a couple of wooden spoons and some recent signature footy cards.

Chris Pym.
What a memory. 3 goals in the Night Panasonic Match against Carlton.
Bartlett's first game as coach.
Peter Wilson does the cartwheel after the game.

Regards
Rhett Bartlett.

Think you're getting two matches mixed up there Rhett. Pym kicked 3 in the mid-season Friday night game against Carlton which was a massive upset and a great memory. The pre-season win was also against Carlton, Wayne Peters kicked 3 from the wing from memory. Looked a real player...

Actually when I went to the club during the off-season to pay for my membership I went in for a look around the museum for the first time in a few years and saw Joel and Flea with all our drafted kids exiting the museum and when I got in there Carl Peterson was still having a walk around looking in there, I thought it was a great idea by the club to show the young guys our past and true Tiger passion.

I was actually thinking about heading into to town to see this but on the advice here I might give it a miss.

Stick with the mueseum at punt rd. Unless you have a small tribe of cubs to take with u, as they will love the fun and games in the kids areas of afl world.
