Laughable to predict them playing finals!!
A new kebab shop opening in Cronulla would have more chances of success !!!!

Bit of a Freudian slip there eh, diggles? Most of us refer to Richmond in the first person, i.e. "we" or "us".

:rofl
Busted!!!
How are the Demons going Diggler???

Nah - Diggles is a RFC supporter. Why would any other supporter waste his/her time reading this stuff?

It's a top post that gets to the heart of Richmond's deficiencies. Worthy of 3 votes.

Keep punching, and fighting the good fight Dirk!

Great news. On 3AW tonight, the expert Dwayne Russell said that Richmond would be finalists next year, probably top 4 or 5.
......

You heard it because of a freak weather condition that caused a radio transmission from 12 months in the future to appear in this time period.......

BTW, did you happen to make a note of the Tattslotto numbers? (e-mail me off list if you did......) :rofl

Just put your whole bank account on the Tigers 40/1 odds for the flag and you'll get more back.

gotto love that one.

who is dwayne russell? i used to listen to sports today a couple of years ago before the late hooksey passed away. russell did the job when the hooksey or healey were on holidays. i had to turn off when that guy was on because he rambles on about all these sports he knows nothing about. i turned off 3aw after he got the job permanently after hookseys death. holding that position is way beyond him.

I will go so far as to say maybe 2 years before we can play finals, still need another good draft and trade period  for sure, especially as we wasted an opportunity to grab Scott Meyer today and blew it on another outside midfielder and a reject (Humm and Howat)

Did we have a good trade and draft period Craig? Every post of yours that I have read reeks with the same old harp that you've been going on with ad nauseum as is highlighted by your Scott Meyer comment. Still find it interesting that although you think Meyer is the "Messiah" no-one else in ther AFL does.  ::) Harrgh Harrgh Harrghh my man.

The Tigers really werent that far off finals this year. Why is everyone so certain we are going to go backwards next year? A bit more consistency and further improvement from certain players and a fair run with injuries and I think we have a great chance of playing finals. Really what are the realistic reasons for thinking the Tigers will only win 5 or 6 games in 2006?

Cheers

Thanks Goodone.  (Good at what, exactly?)
Whilst I certainly don't agree with good old Dwayne, I love your optimism.  If our 2nd and 3rd year players have as good, or better years than last year, we're every chance of making the 8.
I'm simply hopeful that Lids plays as well as 2005, all the other 2nd and 3rd players could quite easily play better.

Good at everything, excel at nothing....

Im certainly not the eternal optimist, but I do feel that the Tigers are looking alot more promising for the future. And I think alot of that has to do with the improved performance off the field. Like you I think Lids will be all the better for his first year. Tambling will hoepfully be alot fitter. Simmonds I personally thought improved in the latter part of the year and should be more consistent next year (especially if they play him predominantly in the ruck). Brownie will be back for at least a major part of the season. Where's the downside? Maybe some of the older players will struggle to play as well as last year. Aside from injuries I cant see to much downside which in theory should mean an improved performance next year. Looking at the performance of other teams on and off the ground, I think we're a definite chance of beating 8 other teams to make the finals next year.

Alot will also depend on how well some of the other young guys step up.

If a couple really emerge things could really be looking up, but not getting to carried away.

We need another couple of players to take a leaf out of Tuckies book.

Anyone got a copy ;D

I'm with you Goodatsomethings and Gustiger.
If a few of our 2nd and 3rd year players step up, we could be very good. Admitedly, Simonds would want to kick better for goal, among many other things. But, at this early stage, why not hope for the 8?
