Richmond Game Plan

Tigers of Old said:
Tempo football.

Terry's triangle.

16 goals a game.

Hurt signs.

Crunchball games.

We have a heap of 'game plans', in fact it seems we have a different one every week. ;)

Sadly we just do not have enough footballers capable of executing any one of them.

None of those are actually incompatible game plans.

Oldie, how can you forget that infamous, intelligent and ultra-brilliant game plan 'Kick it to Richooooooooo' ;D
There's been many times watching our HBF's and midfield stop, prop and look 20m upfield, the left and right before pass it sideways (often occasionally kicking poorly) - where I've ended up shouting "Kick it to Richooooooooo" (who would be leading up- for the 500 time that quarter).

I hope Polak has learnt to kick straight, he is even worse than Richo. Dont know why we need Deledio full time in forward line when Browny and Pettifer can do the job. I would play him 50-50 forward - Midfielder rotating with Tambling. We will play a 1 on 1 style of play with quick passing. My biggest worry is Johnson he holds on too long to the ball at crucial times, last year hopefully.

It is odd.
Polak's a great mark but as you say to be kind he's an ordinary shot at goal.

I'm all for shuffling him and Schulz in the short term but I'll believe it works when I see it.
I see it more as an admission that the Polak experment at CHB has failed more than expecting him to tear it up in our forward line or Jay to be the answer in defence. We're seemingly plugging gaps with players in hope.

Obviously depending on his form this coming season, I still can't help but think Jay is better suited up front due to his accuracy in front of goal but he ain't going to ever play there until Richo's retired. Heck there's a very good chance he won't even be at Richmond next year. A very good chance.

It'll be interesting to see how the Polak/Schulz switch goes but I'm not holding my breath that it'll be a great success.

Hopefully it works out..

I would play Polak in Bowdens spot first see how he goes there, he is not a bad field kick and he has good hands, just needs to get tight on his oppenent. If it doesnt work put Bowden back.

That leaves Bowden for a new position, does he have the engine to play midfield, or is he a backline player for ever.

Watching the Ess v WC game on Fox Sports this morning showed a possibility of making Morton our next FF after Richo.

This is where Wallace has got his game plan from...

When the Piranhas left school they were called up but were found by an Army Board to be too unstable even for National Service.
Denied the opportunity to use their talents in the service of their country, they began to operate what they called 'The Operation'.
They would select a victim and then threaten to beat him up if he paid the so-called protection money.
Four months later they started another operation which the called 'The Other Operation'.
In this racket they selected another victim and threatened not to beat him up if he didn't pay them.
One month later they hit upon 'The Other Other Operation'.
In this the victim was threatened that if he didn't pay them, they would beat him up.
This for the Piranha brothers was the turning point.

We got Paddy and Joel and overlooked the twins (whatever their names are) bit we missed the most talented Bowden of all - Dinsdale Bowden. He'd staple Gehrig's head to the coffee table.

What is an intrinsic mechanism?

Surely our players understand what Terry's on about.

That link is far too complicated for the average teacher.

Basically Terry's IM's are:
- to go out there and remember the game plan
- remember which way the team is kicking
- remember to chip the ball and waste time 2-3 minutes to go in the last quarter (Round 1 2007, our boys got confused and started chipping 10 minutes into the 3rd quarter)
- hitting the foward on the chest and not the opposition defender is one way of kicking goals
- the shortest route to goals is down the guts and not along the boundary line
- touching the 'HURT' sign will save you from evil spirits
