Richmond has finally changed. Accurate passing.

The last two weeks the number of ridiculous turnovers straight to the opponent or just sprayed have dropped to just about zero.

I think one thing all our current first 22 have in common is accurate ball usage.

I can't remember the last time this was the case.

Against Melbourne there were near zero.

against the Saints there were only three who passed to the opposition:

Johnson :2
Pattison: 1
Raines :1

It is a really good sign.

If your White and Edwards type players keep improving, and the team stay accurate, we may build soon into a real team.

We had an efficiency rating of 90% in the first half.

Then we had something like 12-3 turnovers in the 3rd quarter. (12 to us).

The skill level has certainly gone on the improve, but when the pressure intensified the same old turnovers from the same old usual suspects let us down again.

I'm agreeing with you again Ghost.

For the first time in living memory, most of our players can be relied upon to hit targets.

Except of course for our venerable leader, young Patto and Richo (but he's forgiven).

Patto wasn't that bad. Spotted up a lead in the first half with a nice kick as I recall.

And another thing. Who remembers when G Thomas first started as StKilda coach and we beat them at the dome and he said that the Saints were still a better team than us. Well Things have changed and i hope all Richmond supporters remember to wave at StKilda on their way down.

There's not that many of the same old suspects left GPB.
Our foot passing is looking better than it has in years the past 3 games.
Pity we are going to pick up the wooden spoon... :cutelaugh

You're right Jexy, Patto was hitting his targets last night. I'd like to see him string a few together though before I rate his disposal skills too highly though.

Don't get me wrong as I am a big Patto fan and every time I see him play, I see him improve as a footballer. He is one of the few success stories of 2007 for us, along with Foley, Polak, Jackson and Edwards.

I think the youngsters have been forced to take a step up and improve their skills because of the injuries and inability of senior players to do just this. Patto has done it tough, but it's done him good as a footballer and his development will be better for the duress he's been put under this season.

I went to the Dogs-Roos game yesterday and the Dogs were like the Tigers of recent years. No system, poor skills and poor decision-making. It was a stark contrast to our game the night before.

About bloody time! For too long we have had the worst foot skills in the league!

We have seemed to have confidence in the game style we are playing at the moment & I was talking to a Saints supporter who said that he can see us being a good side in years to come because of our run & speed. Confidence is a big thing most AFL footballers have skill but not all have confidence the Bulldogs are suffering from a lack of it at the moment.

Patto has had the toughest job in the competition this year. Thrown to the wolves in simmos absence. He's done a great job IMO and will be a decent player. Gives away far too many silly free kicks at the moment.

Reckon you might want to include one A. Raines in that list of turnover kings. Sorry, but he does it all too often coming out of defence because he tries to take on one bloke too many. The problem is that due to playing deep in defence, when he does it, it usually results in a goal to the opposition. But overall, I too have noticed that our foot disposal has improved in recent weeks.

Well, I guess this thread went up a bit early. ::) Fair dinkum, that footy must have been a furball to the tigers tonight, because all we seemd to do was cough it up - under no *smile* pressure. >:(

another example of why you never get excited or ahead of yourself about anything with this football club. We went backwards again tonight.
