Richmond membership at Dees away game?

I love how you believe you are a better supporter than most.

I actually don't. I'm just sick and tired of being talked down to by those who are all for the concept who have NEVER had anything but disregard & contempt for those of us against it.

I simply refuse to argue the point anymore in any kind of logical fashion. Particularly when those of the mensa society inevitably weigh in ...

It dissapoints me that loyal Richmond people can't see why this is wrong sure, but you'll all figure it out one day when we end up like Hawthorn/Launceston playing a 3rd of our home games outside of Melbourne.

Hows the plan going to have "A" and "B" grade memberships btw, with the B memberships for those who live outside Melbourne? We are a club based in Melbourne, but with supporters around the country.

& I should care about supporters outside of Melbourne why? They have never given a damn about the hurt some of us have felt over this, and from day one some simply resorted to taunting those of us against it. So again, remind why I should give a *smile* about any of them?

If we have the token game go to them in return for a nice financial reward, I am all for that.

Hence why we label it selling the clubs soul. It is throwing away the history of the club for nothing more than a minor financial reward.

Welcome to 2010 and beyond Mel.
Like it or not we play AUSTRALIAN rules football and it's played all over AUSTRALIA.

With the addition of extra teams into the competition, soccer starting to seriously grow it's game and certain clubs getting better deals than others it's inevitable that major changes need to be made for clubs to survive never mind being competitive.
Better to cut your finger and bleed a little then get ripped by a chainsaw and bleed to death.

I think that sums up your view perfectly

big +1. a lot of people still dont get this despite it being right in front on their faces. infact, this has give me an idea to start up a new poll

Yup 400k is going to replace our gym facilities ::)

It won't even be used on that.

We should be trying to emulate the clubs who are consistently successful off field like the Pies and Bombers, not resorting to partial relocation like Hawthorn.
Hawthorn not succesfull enough for you MT? I would have thought having at least one permiership in every decade since the 60's and currently a 50K+ memberships base was fairly succesful.
FWIW, i believe the partial relocation to Cragieburn is a great idea. New facilities, MCG sized training track and a new demographic to launch into and recruit members from, cant be all that bad.

Also, id rather have the 400K to spend on whatever we desire than not have an empty loss at home and a few slightly less inconvenienced memvers. I'm sure all of you will get over the inconvenience by next week, and perhaps you should get out of bed a little earlier and head to the ground early today to secure a decent seat. Heck there was no such thing as a reserved seat 20 years ago and we all got by just fine then.

Suck it up you lot.

I can summarise this thread very simply

"Me me me me me me me me me me me me me me"

God there's a lot of whinging going on, the self entitlement some of you have is astonishing.
Anyone would think that they aren't letting you into the ground to see the game

i'm a 17 game member. the deal for me is nothing as i would have gained entry to this game anyway.

and nope, no reserved seat for this game. us reserve seat members get screwed as i've been arguing all year.

WTF? it doesn't match anything. we do not get to sit in our usual seat

::)
Totally with you Ian, just the cynic in me about "matching our normal reserved seat". I hate "the modern game" for doing nothing for the "good old fashioned club supporter" ... all about the $ ... bring back suburban grounds and a chance to support your team at ALL HOME games!

....with massive membership and a premiership cup.

Yep, that pretty much sums up the entire argument that has been made by QLD based supporters ever since the idea was announced...

& Carlton over the years have cheated their way to a number pf premierships... Should we copy them too? FMD The jealousy of Hawthorn around these parts is sickening at times. We do not need to copy them & if we ever got into a position where we took a premiership cup on a tour to an outpost like they did last year with Launceston ... I would have a lot of trouble continuing to support the "Tigers FC"

Brisbane/Fitzroy achieved a 3-peat post merger ... Maybe we should try that too? Or how about let's emulate Sth Melbourne and relocate to Blacktown so we can ensure the AFL will compromise the comp just so you can cheer "Yay TIgers" on GF day...

The clubs we should be looking too for guidance are Collingwood & Essendon.

:rofl Don't kid yourself. Victorian Rules is played all over the Southern States.

I'm glad you finally can see the point ;)

QLD based members of this forum have never cared about those of us in melbourne the GC game upset, so i don't care about them.

Simple really :)

What have QLD members got to do with it ? I'd say there are more victorians saying yes than QLDers.

It amazes me that you can ridicule and berate those who can see the reasons why some relocated games are for the good of the RFC claiming they are blind.
