I’d be offended but my overwhelming need to seek compromise and a moderate path leads me to say that your comment was over the top but partially valid.

This thread bites.

It calls itself a reconciliation thread, but WHERE IS LIVERPOOL :don't know

Nah, I bet he agrees Miller cannot say sorry because the current officials had nothing to do with the regime that caused the problems in the first place, so even though the are RFC officials, they should not say sorry for something they did not cause.

More importantly, there is no proof that management caused the problems, and the players themselves could be at fault. And at the end of the day, if after the millions we have spent on them they are not prepared to sprt out their own issues, why do we cope the blame.

Finally, and apology will open up the club to litigation from disgruntled players. After all, if we say sorry how long is it before we are sued by the likes of Brennan and Banik for ruining their careers??

Somebody at the club is going to say sorry to the fans for the past 25 years?

Only under Parliamenary Privilege or the compensation claims will be a killer.

PUNT ROAD OVAL is a sacred site. :clap

Captain Blood broke many a collarbone there.

Some of our Mightiest Tigers of all time ripped the heart out of the opposition on that hallowed turf.

It is indeed a SACRED SITE.

Which would explain the Tiges not training there as so not allowing for the duds to run on it which is sacriledge and an embarrassment to the greats.

:D :D

Sorry Claw,

I forgot to mention that some of Victoria's greatest cricketers, who played for RICHMOND CRICKET CLUB, have also shed sweet and blood on the hallowed turf at Punt Road.

Its only fair that they get to honour their traditions during summer and that our footballers find a more appropriate training venue while the ground is being used by traditional owners during summer.

TRADITIONAL OWNERS = SACRED SITE.

That's pretty magnanimous of you Rimau, they didn't pack to the rafters at Punt Road during the great depression to watch their heroes play cricket. Richmond is football country.

Bondy was definately the hopeless last Czar (last in a line of hopeless Czars since Peter the Great (aka Graeme Richmond)) whos ineptitude brought on a decent into total anarchy and revolution.... after which..... things didnt get better for 75 years. gulp.

Mixing eras, but I guess Phantom would be Tolstoy.....enought dissent to be heard, not enough to be sent off to the work camps
Craig, I dub Fydor D. The man is pathos.

...but on topic: Yes the darkside has taken the acendency on PRE: and although Im over there with them I dont think its healthy for the board. Perhaps having won the intellectual argument the Darksiders should now show some magunamity, leadership and vision and help lead the Board back into its heyday - not by becoming brightsiders, but becoming more constructive in their analysis. Theres no point flogging a dead horse guys. Youre right, were *smile*. Whats next?

I see Claw as more the Trotsky, a true ideologue and who eventually get sidelined by a pragmatic Stalin type (say Disco) who brings in a far more vicious reign of terror.

If Greg Miller is Rasputin, he will take some removing.

Boney M warned us about his type:

But when his drinking and lusting and his hunger
for power became known to more and more people,
the demands to do something about this outrageous
man became louder and louder.

"This man's just got to go!" declared his enemies
But the [brightsider] ladies begged "Don't you try to do it, please"
No doubt this Rasputin had lots of hidden charms
Though he was a brute they just fell into his arms

Punt Road is indeed a sacred site.

Back in the 70's a life long Richmond supporter actually had his ashes interred in the goal square, I remember reading the story and seeing the photo of his wife with the urn in the Hun.

Maybe Rhett can shed a bit more light on it

Definitely an idealogue Colonel but with some very ruthless ideas nonetheless. More like a Pol Pot type but not so bloodthirsty :P

Pol apparently had a brother who was more of a pacifist and used to indulge a bit in the good things of life. His first name was Peace :devilsmiley

Hayfever I've been wracking my brain to think of a figure from Russian history who is prepared to take on a cause no matter how difficult or how much the odds are stacked against him.

Lord Cardigan ordered the brave but futile charge of the light brigade against the Russians in the Crimean war, that;s the closest I can come to you

Napoleon led the darksiders against the Ruskies and came up very short as well Colonel. They reckon he had a bit of a rover's complex:-
