Richmond v Adelaide (Gold Coast Stadium - 4/7/09)

Our home game (which was at the MCG not Docklands) drew 40,043 - hardly filling the stands with all the Sainters rocking up

Maybe I have the year wrong. I could be thinking about this one.

R16 H St Kilda 4.1 4.3 5.5 9.7 61 5.3 10.5 15.8 16.9 105 L Docklands 34,631 17-Jul-2004

Thinking about it, the 2005 rings a bell personally for a different reason. We definitly gave St Kilda a make up game at some point.

That figure is even sadder - says something when for only 2 out of the past 10 years your away attendances are better than your home given they have had a pretty good run (we are 5:5 - but only made finals once in the entire time)

I doubt that game in '04 that we would have had legions of fans in attendance.

4 wins wasn't it?

Actually for 2004 we finished with the 7th highest average attendances for both home and away games (35378 and 32984). Saints were 5th and 4th respectively (37026 and 37882).

Considering we were spooners and they were third I found that quite surprising (expected their numbers to be much better THB).

& yet I'm the one sledged for an insular attitude...

Don't need one. I am attending the game. Hope it's a sell out too & I stop a QLD'er from seeing Richmond play live. I deserve to see my team play live than any rednecks do.

yet we're supposed to hear it from you non stop.

1 game - selfish reasons for sure but I'm still happy. 1 game thats it.

in reference to your bold - you have got to be joking. terrible thing to type.

I'm well aware that my view is in the minority on here and most would be happy for the club to relocate on a perm basis. That doesn't mean I should keep quiet just because everyone else is happy to sell our club off to the highest bidder.

I admit, I had to laugh at yesterdays article stating we were increasing our profit by almost double on last years amount. Take out the GC blood money, and how big is the increase in profit?

Mel, why are we in the minority here? richmond supporters are passionate, why aren't the other ferals as passionate as us on this? do they not see the bigger picture?

Mel, i also laughed about the article re the bigger profit as well. if you take out the GC blood money, plus the extra $$$ from a huge increase in membership, it's not all that impressive.

Those of you who support the move got lucky in that the make-up game happens to be against Melbourne thanks to the way the draw was done - From memory, it's our only non-big 4 away game @ the 'G

spot on yet again. most of you hate going to etihad... what if the make up game next year is against st kilda/dogs/roos at etihad?

If you accept 1 game, then you have no cause to complain if it becomes 2, 3, 5 ... 11 games.

Look at the panic that has set in amongst some Hawthorn supporters when rumour got out they were considering playing 5 (min) of 12 games in Tasmania if the season got extended by 2 rounds.

They were happy to accept the Tassie cash and gloat about the financial performance of their club, but any increase in games and suddenly the world is crashing down. To my, that's the highpoint of hypocrisy. If you accept it under one circumstance, you've made your bed when circumstances change.

:clap

Given right from the very beginning the attitude from QLD members of the forum, including yourself has been "*smile* the Vic fans, Richmond are coming here and that's all I care about. Screw those of you who are losing something"

No, I do not feel my anger towards the selfish turds who reside in the northern state to be completely out of bounds.

From day one there has been no sympathy from you lot whatsoever to those of us upset at having lost a home game. So why wouldn't I chuckle if I took a seat from a QLD'er?

Ian, this has been my main fear from day 1.

The club is making some noise about the increase in profit, yet it's largely due to circumstances that won't be repeated (Ben) and circumstances that most believe won't repeat after 3 years time (GC blood money)

What I want to know is what plans do the club have to increase our profit on a long term, sustainable basis? Rather than one off cash injections that selling our club off to other states provides.

How much you want to bet we end up playing games in Canberra?

Because you are what you complain about?

Look forward to hearing you raise that at the AGM then.................instead of bleating here >:D

I am planning to attend this year and if lucky enough to get the chance will be doing exactly that.

The increase in profit is a myth. Plain & simple.

You show my one post from a QLD'er expressing sympathy to those of us upset about it as opposed to making ridiculous excuses like "You get a makeup game"

Well no, I get to sit in my reserved seat 10 times. So I don't get a makeup game at all.

i'm not gonna bag our QLD supporters... i mean we all love the tigers, but Mel has a point. a lot of the QLD supporters have criticised Mel and I about this issue.

the simple fact remains that if Richmond is your team of choice and you chose to live in QLD... then if you want to see a Richmond home game it means you should have to travel to melbourne to see it. i have chosen richmond as my team and i choose to live in melbourne. so when my team plays a home game, i should expect to be able to see that game in melbourne instead of being forced to travel. simple.

Well sometimes when I get a chance to watch my team, its not a "home" game.
Do you have to live in the suburb of Richmond?
