PUNT ROAD END | Richmond Tigers Forum

Is it just my imagination or do the Tigers struggle against these close checking, hard tackling, high pressure teams?

All of our bad losses, the big ones and the ones we should have won against lesser teams, have been against teams that play tight. Collingwood, Kangaroos, Swans, Geelong and now Carlton.

The games we won or perhaps got a lot closer than expected were against either teams that do a lot of zoning, Hawks and Saints, or teams that play loose, Freo and Port.

It seems that our troop of fast running skinny flankers have trouble coping with the pressure when the tougher teams turn the screws and put the pressue on.

I'm not sure what the answer is at this stage, perhaps a few bigger bodies who can throw their weight around in the later part of the season, although with maybe Cartledge and Schulz our only options that fit that description, our options are limited.

I hope the recruiters are looking at this for the end of the season, we could sure use a bit more grunt and mongrel in the team at the moment.
