Richmond v. Essendon (Rd 15)

Dean Soloman is deadset the most idiotic * to ever lace up a pair of football boots, he is nothing but a cheap shot artist who's natural ability is low and he is slowly but surely being shown up for the fraud that he is. When he threw Coughlan to the ground after he had marked it, I told my Essendon supporting mates this and they agreed.

Simmonds slayed them in the Ruck, had a great second half.

Richo telling the Essendon supporters to look at the scoreboard when they were taunting him was priceless

Chaffey towelled up Hird and well, LeboTiger is not alone in saying that he is sorry to the Chaff. He ran hard all day.

I felt the maligned played pretty well too. However, I do still feel that we did sort of become too Richo orientated.

Good to see some of the boys fly the flag in that scuffle, however I seriously wished someone would smack that imposter mark mcveigh.

Pettifer still soft, but still played a very good game.

Wayne Campbell partied like it was `1999.

Very happy day :)

I think your spot on. especially about Solomon. Hes a big fake tough guy.
I thought we were very good all round today. I think most of our players won in there individual. The wet definatly suited us. Plenty of courage shown by everyone.

Im not the biggest fan of Tivva, Pets, Chaff, Campbo but they all had good games. Kudos.

Enjoy it!

Sorry if this has been posted but Tambling is STILL yet to taste defeat this year (apart from the Wiz Cup)

Yay! Thanks guys for your spirited win, a shiny beacon of good in an otherwise appallingly defeating week for some of us.

I'm very impressed with young William - and loved watching him rip into the theme song after the game with such unbridled gusto. In moments of weakness I've also only stooped to dissing one player this year, in fairness I must say well done Gregory T on your game today. :spin

Here's to a quick recovery for Cheeky Chubba,

Ms Tantie.

Perhaps you need to spell perhaps CORRECTLY!!!!!!!!!!! :hihi :hihi :hihi

Sat behind the goals at the ponsford stand, I assume this is where the Essendon "Cheer Squad" was supposed to be. They were a rabble that cheer squad, got wet with all the rain and what not, but it was definitley well worth it. We were more direct, played the ball and were not pre occupied on trying to hurt the opposition physically off the ball.

BTW: anyone notice that Joel Bowden has the slowest baulk in the game, yet the opponents always get fooled by it?

Listening to the aftergame on aw and at the end heard an Ess chear sq member come on and complain that Richo gave them the finger at some pt in the game. This character was calling for Richo to be fined. Hate your av Ess supporter even more than Coll/Carl people. Bingo did you see anything or was this just sour grapes?

bugger the finger - i would have flashed the date

My take on the game - ok, ok, I know I don't get to see all that's going on out there and I really, really, really hate it when the commentators say things like:  "WW3 has broken out down the other end of the ground" yet the cameras stay firmly on the fullback kicking out up the other end.

Chaffey delivered the promise I saw in him when he first trod the G in the 90s.  This guy is also capable of handing out a "quietener" to an opposition player.  Did a job on Hird.

Hilts - well, what can I say.  I liked this guy in his early years with RFC and I believe he is finally getting over his major injuries.  Arguably kicked the winning point last week and kicked the only Tiger goal in the final ¼ this week.  I've read some horrible things said about him on this site from "supporters" but I reckon he has turned the corner.  Welcome back, Hilts - a credit to #1 jumper.

Thirsty. . . maaaaate!  He reminded me, today, of an older Richmond player but I can't put a name to him yet.  Help me you more mature Tiger fans.  This player has shown enough in 2 games to make me feel warm and fuzzy for the future.  Several times I witnessed his body use as something that normally only comes with many years of experience.  At one stage, he gave a beautiful hip to somebody which sent him flying and left Thirsty with the ball.  He is going to be with us for many years.  Good on ya, Will.  Incidentally, I watched him walk off with the others at end of game, and though he is still slim, I bet he bulks up nicely in the coming years.  We have found ourselves a top defender.

And young Lids - ah, I can see why he was No 1 pick.  Class, class.  And I'm very impressed with his marking, even in packs.  Good shot on goals, too.  In fact, most of the kids seem good shots.  Bling and Kraks should have had at least another goal each to their name.

And talking about missed goals - how come Richo gets howled down for his missed shots?  Lucas missed sitters, nobody castigates him.  Many players miss set shots but, no, get stuck into Richo!  Noticed, TW again had him down back in the last ¼.

Pettifer?  Well I saw him lay a couple of good tackles today and he was often in the thick of things.  He'd be in my 22.

Hall, again dependable.  He and Gaz have tightened up our defence.  And here I go again, Andy, what about the Gasman?  He's really making me eat my words and, y'know what?  I love it!  So Lloyd got 4, so what?  That's what he's there for.  But he only had 2 teensy-weensy purple patches - more mauve, methinks - and no defender could have stopped those goals.  So, for all but 10 minutes of the game, well done Gaz.

All the criticism Campbell has got over the years, I am really appreciating what quick hand and foot skills he has when it's in close and dirty.  The way he fires out those handballs and chip kicks are worth keeping him in the team.

Finally I have to say: great game, Tucky!  That was a beaut snap goal from the boundary and your other goal came at a handy time, too.

And I'm excited about the support and encouragement players are getting from their team mates.  There's been a lot of grizzling on this site lately, but I reckon we're going in the right direction.

Perhaps your diving coach Mr Greg Louganis could expand on the injury??
