Richmond to win by 30 points.

Carlton still have a very suspect backline. Deledio and Pettifer will be hard for them to match up on without compromising on our other forwards such as Brown and Richardson. I don't think they can hold all our forwards. But once again it will all depend on the speed and accuracy of the delivery system.

Judd is a great player but when he was with the Coasters all of the players worked hard to provide space for him. The Blues will struggle to do this. Judd will have to work in traffic. He can do it...but will he be as effective as he was with the Weagles? Time will tell.

Blues all hype.
 
This thread reminds me of a famous quote from the late Bob Newhart which is very apt in these circumstances. Bearing in mind I've had to paraphrase slightly as Bob was unlikely to have heard of the Richmond-Carlton rivalry and was actually talking about Country Music at the time.

It still works. The modified quote goes something like this:

I don't like Carlton but I would never denigrate anyone who does. For the benefit of those who do like Carlton, denigrate means "to put down."

Tigers by 15 points and Judd to rip a hammy.

I don't think so. Our forward line has no real plan or players who can work within the plan....if they could we would have the most feared forward line in the AFL...not the most ridiculed underachieving forward line.

We can have opposition teams double and tripling Richardson but we still lose the ball when it comes to ground...means that the six guys up forward dont work hard enough to WANT the ball.
 
Carlton have been ordinary tonight, although boxing on well. A super hard tag on Stevens (attention : Jake King) is imperative.

Tigers by 6 goals. Set King loose on Stevens and get whoever plays on Fev to get right in his face and give him plenty of physical attention. Fevs gets distracted easily so annoy the hell out of him.

I can't recall being negative on other threads that we ain't good enough to beat the Blooze. I've probably mentioned certain players ain't good enough, but if my memory serves me correct a bad word about our club has not left my 'forked' tongued.

Oh that just reminds me, you still owe me a drink. ;)
 
I never understand the concept of tipping my team to lose!

Don't get me wrong - a lot of the negative threads are fully justified, and criticism is warranted where it is fair - BUT - I have never ever ever tipped against the Tigers :hearton

It's simple really:

You can come from the worst loss in history, with 6 losing games in a row playing a team that has dominated for years (Brisbane) on their home ground - and still convince yourself:

Richo will have a great game tonight, or
they have underestimated Browny, or
perhaps Captain Kane has recovered from his injury, or

the list goes on.

More importantly - I cannot undertand the concept of tipping against your team - when tipping is all about PRIDE! (the money is irrelevant)

With two minutes to play, Tigers down by 3 pts - I don't want the back of my mind saying :

"Oh well - at least I win the tipping pool $30 prize this week"

What a load of !@#$#@!

I will be the first to be upset at a loss - and will identify flaws in a player - just like we do with many other people in day to day life: politicians, co-workers, media identities - BUT
