Richmond vs Crows Rd 8 game day thread

Hasn't Wallace actually done the game a favour by providing an answer to the Adedlaide-style flood? He shouldn't be criticised for finding a solution to numbers behind the ball, he should be lauded!

I reckon we are starting to see an evolution to the game which may see teams abandon the flooding tactics and get back to real footy. Wallace's tactic of denying the flooding defensive team the ball is one step along the way IMO. All power to him for giving it a crack!!

Yes, that is what media etc are forgetting about all this, it was a response to Adelaide's flooding. If they were manning up the strategy wouldn't have worked.

It was awful to watch as a spectacle. I certainly wasn't booing, but I sure was groaning at times. But if teams are going to zone off, then it is the smart thing to do.

I was having a great time yelling "Kick it to Bowdo" every time we got the ball. Annoyed the crap out of the adelaide supporters.

The channel 10 commentators said yesterday that there was apparently no communication between the coaches box and the ground for the entire 1st qtr due to a technical error.

The truth comes out now - the brilliant gameplan was due to our player's confusion and lack of instruction. When this worked in our favour the Plough just decided to pretend it was his idea. :cutelaugh

We are at the beginning of a journey and 2006 has seen us knocking over teams in alphabetical order.

Adelaide
Brisbane
Carlton
Essendon

and in the next 2 weeks we tackle Freo and Geelong.

I'm bored!

There might be something in this theory p.x. Our losses have come against St Kilda Sydney West Coast Western Bulldogs -the last four teams alphabetically.

It would be nice if the season panned out with wins against teams who appear before Richmond and our only losses were those following.

I'm bored too.

:hihi :hihi :hihi

I thought the umpiring was good, fair and consistant. No AFL inspired bias against Richmond which I always seem to see.

Dont really think Richo was crucified as usual either.

That was probably because of the 32 beer bottles you left in my kitchen CMT. :beer

considering richmond begins with an r, and there are more teams ahead of us alphabetically... we should win about 15 games :hihi

you're kidding? was that sarcasm? saturday was the worst umpiring performance this year. they nearly got the crows over the line undeservedley.

going back to saturday... the more i think about this game, the more i think tw is a genius. the ferals in the media are finally starting to realise tw did this to counteract the crows flood.

I think we will finally break the June hoodoo this year considering we play the LOWLY Kangaroos at the G instead of the Dump, and the Dawks in Tassie.

No I wasn't but then again after 32 beers AFL Umpires can start to look like decent fairminded officials ;)

yeah i must admit one positive from the 2006 draw is the roos game at the G. for the past 3 years they have pretty much turned our season into shambles with away games at the dome on queens birthday weekend. they flogged us every time. we play them again on queens birthday this year but we're the home team and it's at the G. this is another jinx we need to eradicate

I'll be there doing my bit Ian4 - which will involve drinking, yelling and screaming.
