richmond vs hawthorn

So much talk Tiges V Hawks, serious this is almost identical to all the discussions between the Saints and Cats of a few years back where both sides were compared.
The saints were always said to being better and having a better list, at present the Hawks are ahead of the Tiges but gee it can change bloody quick just ask the cats and mind you the saints.

2009 will see where both sides lie and also the continued talk on Bling and Buddy, it'll be 5 years and like the cats and saints one team will street ahead perhaps both but more than likely one team will go ahead the more superior, here's hoping it's the Tiges!

i dunno how people rewatch our games even when we win. the turnovers and poor skills have me yelling at the telly even the 2nd or 3rd time round.

take out the occasion and the fact we won but the game vs essendon has to be one of the worst displays of skills ive ever seen, both sides were bloody terrible

we got over the line with fresh legs after campo, nash, dempsey etc were all injured and essendon had stopped to a walk

Thats footy mate everyone gets injuries, also they ran out of legs oh well we were the fitter team, Its funny how u tend to make excuses for other teams whether its the dons, blues etc ???

nothing worse than seeing a team rebuild quicker than us. we've been rebuilding for 25 damn years! it bloody hurts when you see teams such as west coast adelaide and port win flags ands we're still on the botom...

this time last year most pundits would have thought we were ahead of whorethorn in development, now look at them? next year carltank are gonna overtake us. the year after will probabaly be essendon... when will our turn come?

The season hasn't even started and you've written us off already.C'mon I4 atleast wait till about round 10 before you start getting depressed

i cant and refuse to believe carltank will overtake us............ what do they have judd and the next best is miles behind, stevens is ok but he isnt cousins, kerr, havey, bartel or anywhere near those guys. murphy still hasnt done anything yet, gibbs- no need to coment ,fev is a gun if he doesnt crack the sh!/s,no defence, no ruck cos kruz isnt going to dominate anythin for a couple of years if ever. abit too much like fraser for my liking. then they have a couple of so so players in carazzo and walker. can judd really make that much diffrence to a bunch of rabble ??? delidio, tambling, foley, cotchin, newman in the midfield with thursty, rance, polak, king, bowden in defence then we have richo, brown, petts, edwards, connors,jr, as fowards . gourdis, putt, shultz, hughes, patterson there has to be at least 2 or 3 of these tall kpp that will come of age in the next 2 years to dominate up foward. KEEP THE FAITH IN THE YELLOW AND BLACK the tide has turned & we will see a very diffrent richmond by 2009 i,m 43 years old and remember 1980 we were awesom then and in the last 27 years i have never been as confident in our list as i am know.

its not excuses just facts

it was a close game until they got those injuries and we overran them, but some people carry on like we beat them by 10 goals at full strength

it was a rubbish game played by 2 terrible sides

If it was a g/f Rocky, would you be happy with a premiership, or find excuses for the opposition?

Nobody carried on like we beat them by 10 goals, remember it was thier occassion and they had much more to play for than us.

U mention campo, nash and dempsey...campo is a has been like he was going to change the course of the match, nash please! and dempsey looked good in that match gave the bombers good run. Your talking like guys in the name of Lloyd, hird, McPhee etc were injured. The names u mentioned its actually embarrassing.

So u say its not an excuse just facts, richmond on the other hand has had players out for the majority of the year brown, simmo, cogs and polo so if we go by ur theory "about just facts" we're entitled to say had we had those players we would've won perhaps another half a dozen games. Sounds about right doesn't it!

the tiges were switched on all game that day, all through the game it was apparent that richmond were going to win. controlled the game 80-90%i went to the game with an avid dons supporter and he actually mentioned that richmond was a lot better than he had expected. it was the first richmond game he had gone to in 07.

ahhh turkey tiger and ian i dont want to be the bringer of bad news but carlton and ess have already passed us. i ask where did we finish? 16th i hear you say. well that would mean everyone surpassed us.

i take it astute you are saying the skills in that game were good from both sides. the rock is saying the skills of both sides was terrible nothing more or less ya know what hes right to.they were abysmal.

sometimes winning actually covers up short comings. in the past winning these scrappy low skilled games has hurt us thank god they didnt this yr.
and sometimes losing games with a high degree of intensity and skill can be a good sign unfortunately even when we lose we show little intensity or skill.

hi claw have read alot of your quotes and you seem very pessamistic , carlton finished half a game ahead of us wih an inferior % . their vfl affiliate the bullants finished 9th so i truly believe our youngsters are well ahead of carltanks the only noteable foward they have is fev. no defence just a potentially good midfield. we on the other hand have a better defence atm and even bette potentiall defenders in the wings that havnt played yet our fowards are in a better position richo, petts, brown hughes & jack with shultz borderline and collard ,gourdis, putt as potentialls. midfield is also stating to take shape foley, delidio, tambling, newman, cotchin, cogs coming back and if sanchez, morton, jon, raines, white, king also will be groomed to rotate starting to look formidable........ we are on the correct path with onemore year of cleanout remaining . how can carltank be ahead please

Good post. We have much promise. This was shown by Coburg getting to the grand Final last year. Carlton have shown nothing and are all talk and riding off the Judd hype to bring the whole Carlton team over the line. Carlton have some good youngsters coming through however across the board their team still looks fractured. Richmond youngsters have a far better feel about them individually and as team with positions covered across the field. The line that 'we came last so everyone has passed us' is a narrow minded statement - people who believe that will be caught out when they see the Tigers improvement over '08/'09.

its not about the quality of the players that got injured all im saying is that when you have 1 left on the bench for the 2nd half it kills your rotations and your best players dont get a rest, this is how we overran them with fresh legs rather than champagne football like some would beleive

it was a good atmosphere and the ceremony after the game was brilliant but the occasion no doubt hid what was a terrible game of football

caged if you seriously beleive that we have all position covered across the field you are sadly mistaken

Watched Ade V Hawthorn final again last night. We are not in the same ball park as Hawthorn.

They have us covered across the board at this stage.

Merry Christmas y&b! I think as a gift to ourselves, we should refrain from comparisons to Hawthorn today and avoid anything that might re-ignite any Tambling/Franklin debates on this holy day! :)

You can't compare Buddy and Bling, after all I have never seen Bling swinging from a disco ball at 4am
