- contested possession not good enough
- saying footy is a hard game
- happy with performance after half time
- keeps going back to geelong match
 
What a debacle we have become. No pride, no teamwork, no skill. Its going to take a long time to totally rebuild the list, theres no other way for this club to improve. And the rebuild must start now! Tough decisions need to be made on players both young and old. If they wont be around in 2010 or 2011 they should be dropped and never seen again. (Richo and Cuz excluded, at least they can teach others about hard work) We may as well get games into juniors now and fast track their development. Its time to accept that McMahon, Jackson, White, Bowden, Brown and Simmonds (amongst others) either have glaring deficiencies that cant be fixed or will not be around for long enough to perservere with. And these are just the players who were out there today. Dont forget we still have Schulz, Johnson, Pettifer, Tambling, Edwards, Pattison and Raines who also need to go or have massive question marks against their name.

Gee our list is in diabolical shape.
 
Just got home...still in shock. Thank God for Richo! He stood between us and TOTAL humiliation.
 
in the cold light of dat, wallace has been a disaster, with the introduction of the GC and WS teams, we have missed our opportunity to rebuild the list, we have 6 30 yr olds and no upcomin drafts to replace them, basically we are screwed.

There is no way I am going to encourage my son to be a richmond fan, there is no end in sight :'(
 
Our senior players give nothing (except for Richo) & apart from 1 or 2 we have little to get excited about on our youth.I am not even shattered,just a numb resigned feeling knowing we are in for yr's more pain
 
contested ball Terry, is that all we need to improve? What about tackling, harassing, chasing, putting pressure on. If I see one more bloke zone off instead of running at the opposition, I'll fair dinkum spew up. Case in point when Morton just stood on the 50m defensive line instead of running at the player and proceeded to see the ball get kicked over his head for a goal. If you put pressure on blokes, they'll turn it over, zoning off just gives them more time to hit a target

Well spoken Bowee, put it alongside coralling and my pet hate of manning the mark. I know it's picking out isolated incidents but in the last quarter when we started to come back, Newman (our on field leader for any of those who forgot) manned the mark when Dunne (i think it was) kicked for goal to extend their lead again. Newman hardly raised an arm let alone jump around on the mark to try and put the guy off his kick. Might be basic stuff that rarely works, but even Kingy jumps around on the mark to try and divert the kick. I just don't think any of the basics are focused on at training. It's almost like well you guys are at the elite level so you don't need to be reminded of that stuff.
 
i knew we were stuffed when terry moved richo to full forward.
after 15 years of previous coaches and 4 and a bit years of terry`s reign we STILL revert back to the old kick it richo crap that has continually failed since 1993.

i`ve backed terry all the way but it`s time for him to go,NOW!
 
in the first time for god knows how long actually left the game 15 min into the last quarter.....

looked around at our supporter base and thought what hope have we got as supporters when we meet our end of the deal but the players cant or unable to

RUN
CHASE
HARRASS
TACKLE
HIT TARGETS
TAKE MARKS
STAND UP
PASSION
PRIDE
and the list goes on and on.......

i will put up my hand and say i was happy for TW to come to tigerland and thought at the end of last year could see some ray of sun coming through the clouds that have hovering over Punt Rd since 82....

but what have we achieved as club over the last 4 years apart from some fancy draft picks.....that personally havent stepped up(Lids included).....a big fat ZERO....
i/we as suporters should be able to expect to see some of the above criterias to be met but they havent....

so there must be change....the delicate thing is when.....as we all know what happens when this club goes into turmoil.....

something is not right with this current mob...its like they were accepting of the defeat today when the demons took off...
no one made a stand there was no one wanting to reverse the trend....

after 4 1/2 years later we are no closer...sad but true...
