Richmond's problem is mental

We've had a *smile*ing psychologist in there for over 12 months.

On the face of it, it looked like a worthwhile addition but Richo just about sealed Bond's fate today.

Sometimes you can think too much. :spin

Save the money on Bond, put it back into recruiting and get a coach who can extract the digit from these namby, pamby softos.

Maybe we could recruit the ex-soldier from the Top Gear Polar special I caught over Easter. Threw Jeremy Clarkson into an ice lake so he could "acclimatise" to the conditions. Lovely stuff. Imagine the possibilities with the pansies on the Richmond senior list.

Jesus,

We've had a *smile*ing psychologist in there for over 12 months.

Now they're all *smile*ing head cases.

Like our *smile*ing national athletics team.

Next we'll see is them all doing page 3 nude spreads, like a head case member of the athletics team.

Give me serenity. Give me peace.

:pullhair :upside
Can I just enhance Phanto's anger by saying that THEY TOOK OVER A DECADE TO REALISE MENTAL WEAKNESS !!!

Hey Phanto, is that your suggestion for our new shrink, since the big lug admitted we are mentally deficient. .

Not only are they soft above the shoulders I believe they do not play for each other. The last time they played for each other was after the Polak incident which seemed to galvanise the team together and they played competitive football in the second half of last year.
That then goes to their heads, the club et al pump up their tyres and they melt into a bunch of soft serves again. Watching them play they just play selfish footy. I saw Nahas do a couple of 1%ers last week but bugger all else.

Coaches aren't Psychologists but they should be using as much motivational material as they possibly can. Christ, why doesn't Terry Wallace invite our latest Victoria Cross winner Trooper Donaldson from the SAS to come in and give the players a talk about what he did and what's its like to fight over in Afghanistan. That should by rights get the players blood up on game day, they should come out hard and play hard accordingly.

The club has a psychologist, supposed to be a pretty good having come from AIS and all that stuff. But for whatever reason his stuff isn't working.

As for coaches well another Tommy T Shirt would be idea in my book, no mucking around, do as I say give me 100 push up's etc, kick the ball up the middle long and straight to CHF, FF. The rest of you guys, crash tackle, grab the ball and use it by kicking straight upfield to another tiger etc etc.

Richo, yeah he suffers from the "yips" in front of goal, he can kick them from outside 50 or from hard angles, yet 10 metres right front its out of bounds, he's got golfer's putting yips. What's been done to correct it, apparently the coaching staff from Frawley on don't think it can be corrected because of his kicking action, but that is rubbish.

Ditto *smile*, slow, lazy, poor kick at goal, but he's shown flashes of what he can do, so does that mean his self belief is way down (quite likely) or is it something else that the coaching staff over time have failed to address.

Anyway you look at it, the next coach and the coaching staff are all going to have to be real hard nuts and very strict disciplinarians to boot. Once the players get a taste of that, then we'll see who has the necessary abilities to handle it and improve themselves as players and we'll also see the ones who don't handle it and should be gotten rid of the sooner the better.
