Injured Richmond superstar Matthew Richardson joins PTSI to discuss his injury and the Tigers woes. There is continued pressure on coach Terry Wallace. Seven games into the season, the Tigers are languishing at the bottom of the ladder.

I have to go out now so don't have time at the moment to type what's said for those without speakers but Richo can be listened to HERE

As usual, Richo spoke well and cracked a few jokes. Said he can't do a thing at the moment is feeling lazy. Went and bought himself a playstation to pass time.

- Said we'll win the double next year, expecting us to win the NAB Cup along with the 2009 GF, and expects JON, Jacko and Bling to play a major role in both wins.... :spin

- Spoke about his injury. Not doing any form of excerise as yet. Can only lie down or stand atm. Expects to come back fine and hopes the tendonitis (in the hammy) that he's been carrying for a while will also heal along with the hammy so expects to come back better than pre-injury

- Feels for Newman in his first year as captain. Said Newy's very level headed. All players need to lift and get wins on the board for Newy and the club.

- Usual crap about TW. Richo said he's been very upbeat around the club, players feel responisible for the negative press around TW, etc.

- They asked who of the young brigade have been most impressive in Richo eyes. Richo said Gus and Jackson were probably the 2 standouts. (That's how bad we're going...)

- He went through each round so far and gave a brief summary of his thoughts. Said we were a write off vs carlton, good vs the cats but difficult to win at the cattery (he skipped the doggies game), good vs sydney but couldn't quite get the bickies, then killing brisbane for a qtr but couldn't go on. Disappointing overall...

Bit of a nothing interview but always good to hear the king ...

thank you Newman - I knew there would not be much said but I like hearing Richo's thoughts - he will make a fantastic contribution to the club (as long as it is not teaching others to kick for goal ;)) once he retires. I'm sure someone like Richo wont accept mediocrity and will let players know what it is like bleeding for the Tiger jumper. Maybe a future president even! ;D

Think Richo's future role is like a Sheedy. A great ambassador for obtaining investment, maintaining a high local profile and keeping the club members. The importance of that role shouldn't be underestimated, people like March and Cameron represent the brains of the club, the Sheedy's, Richos and Frees represent the soul. We need both!

Something just occurred - what about runner? I can see him now running out with a drinkbottle and instruction and after runnning the full length of the G seeing the ball in the air he floats in front of the pack takes an outstanding speccy and then kicks it out of bounds. Its all good.
