Richo my heart bleeds for you /Richo's first words after the final siren. [Merged]

I am glad someone started this thread because i came close to adding on the thread about Wallace.

I watched the first quarter and thought we were lucky as the dogs were playing crap and they missed some goals they would have got. Also that coach in their box would have ripped them to shreds with his bake at quarter time. And look what haoppened in the second quarter.

I switched off, angry and frustrated, swearing, sorry at the t.v.

I went and trained for an hour and then came in towards the end and the camera went on Richo after the siren and i am sure he said " what the *smile* is this" or words to that affect.

I feel for this guy. Look over his time he has had his critics, has had brain explosions, but the one thing that you can never doubt with this guy, is HIS LOVE FOR THE CLUB AND THE JUMPER.

HELL IF MORE OF THE PLAYERS , PLAYED WITH 50 % OF WHAT HE BRINGS TO THE TABLE , WE WOULDNT BE IN THIS HOLE AND HE WOULD HAVE SEEN MORE THAN 1 FINALS SERIES.

It is a disgrace that the players are playing like this. He was genuinely excited with this year, with Cousins coming, training with the midfield group and burning the track , he was setting himself up for a finals campaign. After that first game he would have sensed this dream is gone.

I blame Wallace and a host of senior players.

I know this may start a backlash , but whoever comes to this club to coach he will have to seriously have a look at our senior players 30 and over.

Richo in my eyes is the only player safe. He is RICHMOND

To seriously be looked at to trade or go is :

Johnson( harsh, former captain, but i doubt he can come back)
Brown
Bowden
Simmonds
Cousin's (if he breaks down again)

Tambling( i think he needs a change of club for him)
JON( same as above)

King
Mcmahon

Sorry, but there are players who should never play again, players who dont have Richo's fire in the belly, some players like Wallace who just collect their pay cheque and dont care.

I would play up to 7 kids in the next few weeks to see if they are up to it. Hell i want the new coach to make a statement, show Richo as an example who plays with passion and tell all the kids if you want to play for this club have a look at this big fella and take a senior person's place . Its there if you want it !

Nahas, Thompson, Cotchin, Collins, Browne, Gourdis, and others.

Richo SHOULD HAVE BEEN MADE THE CAPTAIN.

I hope he doesnt retire. He looked gutted as i have ever seen him. But if this season continues on a downward , downward slope and his form suffers and Wallace drops him as he did Bowden, all hell will break loose.

Richo man, how we all love the Richo man.................

Part of our love for Richo (apart from the fact that he seems to be a top bloke) is that he's a bit like us - born into barracking for Richmond. Let's face it, those of us born in the 70s and beyond barrack for Richmond because our parents were supporters during the successful era. Richo's no different. And we get it.

I just hope history remembers Richo the way it should. Because of the success of the 67-80 era, we revere some of the lesser players (not talking about Bourke, Hart, Bartlett, Sheeds, Clay etc - more the Rex Hunts of the team) who are put on a pedestal because they were premiership players. Some of them were just at the right club at the right time and didn't have a tenth of Richo's ability. I hope those who won't remember seeing Richo play think of him as one of the greats of the game not just another player of our disgraceful era of the 90s and 00s.
