Not sure that the time hasn't come for the President to go on the offensive. Richo was set up by 3AW journalists and he made a predictable remark, within minutes of the siren that the new rule is crap, which wasn't an attack on umpires in any event..
Perhaps March should send Demetriou a please explain. The new rule was introduced without reference to the Coaches and without being trialed in the pre-season cup, this apparently because the incoming President of the AFL wanted it that way.
Demetriou failed to ensure that any such change occurred in an orderly way with key stake holders being properly consulted.
Time for March to speak up imo.
