Richo On Foxtel Monday Night

Not a whole lot to report.

Richo very likeable, self effacing and funny as usual - Sheehan pretty uninspiring as an interviewer.

A fair bit of chat on his goal kicking - Richo thought Disco Roach was the best teacher he had at the club [sounded like it was only for a year - not sure why it never continued?]. Richo mentioned a fan writing him a letter advising him to revive the place kick as his new technique.

Talked about missing the captaincy and regretting it. Thought his best chance was when Kane got it. Conceded "perceptions" of his body language issues contributed but conceded some responsibility for that. Mentioned the infamous Knights mis-kick and tantrum but offered an explanation that did make some sense watching the replay [Said the ump had blown the whistle, thought play had stopped and was going off at said ump for something] - he did own up for the bad body language after D-Rod fumbled that ball in the goal square on the same night.

Fave player to play with was Benny Gale. Followed by Knighter and Campbell. Also mentioned Browny and the purple patch before his leg break.

Max Hudghton was named as his toughest opponent.

Talked a bit about the joyless nature of AFL footy for young kids today as opposed to how it was when he started.

Sounded keen to play on next year if the club wanted him to [this was recorded a few weeks ago]

Admitted also that the club made mistakes with draft picks....both on recycled players and other players that "you know who we're talking about".

(I assume the likes of JON, etc?)

Excellent interview from Richo. He is very lucid and speaks the truth. What a contrast to "Mr. Boring," last week.
