Let's give their defenders something to worry about!

Bomb long boys........that will shock the Crows!

By playing with plenty of talls on our forward line, they will have to match up with tall defenders, hence, we will stifle their run out of defence.

Without some shock tactics I fear we may be beaten!

Terry try this and thank me later!

:clap .............. i think you have a great point BFTG - must think outside the square. We probably have two 'alternatives'...

1) play a smaller forward line with richo playing up the park ..say:
Pettifer   Richo     Tambling
Krak        Lids       Jackson

or

2) go all out talls:

Pettifer                 Richo     Tambling
Stafford/Hughes  Simmo    Krakouer

I think if we go small we need to hit our targets - something we have been failing to do this year. If we go tall we can allow ourselves to kick it long and high and hope for a contested grab or a crumb. Problem is in todays footy u kick long to your own peril.....soon as theball hits the deck there are about 5 opposition players waiting to run run run......
Interesting but i think we need some sort of alternative set up this week...can not be predictable or else we can accept a result something in the sydney vacinity.

Stick Hughes in there too and we might be able to crowd the goal square even further.  ;)

Have a look at the Adelaide forward half.

HF: Thompson,185, Hentschel,194, Burton,185
F: Bode,178, Ricciuto,184, Biglands,200

Only 2 players over 190cms, 3 mediums & a small.
Very well balanced.

Last weeks Sydney

HF: O'Keefe,188, Hall,194, Williams,177
F: Davis,184, O'Loughlin,189, Buchanan,179

One tall, 3 mediums, 2 smalls.

Yes but phantos those teams are also exceptional by foot and rarely miss a leading target in the forward 50....we on the onther hand are well......crap at hitting targets.

That will shock Adelaide?

They know we will go to Richo everytime, so it doesn't matter which other talls are stacked in our forward line.
If we decide to kick the ball to Stafford, Hughes or Simmonds, we might all get a shock.

have to agree, we dont need a ruckman - our midfield cant win the ball even if we get the tap so stick em all at full forward and just bomb the ball when we actually do get it

last week 142 kicks

= 36 a quarter hmmmm

And you really believe that Stafford deserves a game?
He should be Capuanoed as he is not up to AFL standard anymore!!!

They have Rutten, Hart and McGregor who are tall enough and experienced enough to handle our forward line should we go the bomb it long option, especially if we do go to Richo every time. IS going to be a very tough game, I hope we can get over them but I still think the injuries in our backline are a bad omen.

I have to agree with diggler on this occassion. Staff has been very ordinary so far, I don't think he deserves a game either.

Bring in young Pattison!

Whats the point if we aren't getting the ball down there anyway. Not looking forward to this weeks game

Stafford should not be included in the team. He is liability not only to the forward line, but to the whole team.

Even if we clone another Richo up forward, our team will somehow still find the 'real' Richo and still pass it to him.

Our team is too 'one-dimensional', even in TW's 2nd year.

any room for Limbach?

we have to have a look at him eventually..or not at all

trouble about forwards is...when you're midfield aren't getting it...the forwards can't do much.

maybe Terry's gathering of skilled quick ball winners makes sense after all ;)

Your kidding me aren't you FilthyHound? Limbach has to be consistant at Coburg before getting a promotion. Besides if we keep playing enormous numbers of kids we will keep getting belted by 100+ points and after too many of those losses I think it does start to become detrimental to a kids confidence and development. We need a balance of kids and experienced players who deserve their spots, not being given them because they are pubescent.
