As one of the leading contested marks of the comp over the last 10 years, Richo you really don't need to duck your head when you feel a small push in the back. You're far better than that. 7 out of 10 times you will beat your opponent one on one, no need for the theatrics. Umpires are aware of forwards who try to milk free's. Keep your stance and just try to mark it, regardless of the pressure from behind, free's will take care of themselves :)

I don't know what you're referring to Tames but I'd love to see clip of all the frees Richo hasn't been paid over the years. I have a perception he's been pretty hard done by in regard to frees for. It probably doesn't help him that he tends to get into wrestles of strength at times.

A commentator was heard to say once..."the full back could pull out a gun and threaten Richo but he still wouldn't get a free" :hihi

Actually Rosy, there was at least 4 occaisons today where Richo gave up on either the contest or chasing trying to milk frees.

I love the big fella but that aspect of his game was poor today. >:(

On the other hand, as usual he did work his guts out for us as usual. :)

His opponent could rip his head off, jump in his back and throw the football and Richo still won't get a free ;)

Wateva richo has done for the last 10 years trying 2 get a free hasnt worked, cant blame him for trying something new! But id tell him forget abt practising milking the free and practice kicking for goal! OH and take lidders and bling wif him!

Geez, this is "nit picky". Leave the big champ alone I reckon - and be thankful he wore the number 12 in yellow & black.

Richo just hasnt got the same polish as to another Mathew when it comes to milking free kicks

If I was going to nit-pick on the big lug, I'd maybe whisper in his ear to not get too close to the man on the mark when kicking for goal.

But milking for frees.....its the way of the future (I'm afraid).
Had this argument before on this forum that footy will slowly go the way of soccer where we'll see more and more feigning and acting.

Plus, if I remember right, Richo is a Spurs fan....so that says a lot for hsi poor acting skills....if he supported Arsenal, then he'd be the perfect diver, I'm sure! :hihi

What im suggesting though is he's that good one on one, he'd most likely end up marking it alot of the time, rather than trying to get the free. As it has been posted here, it seems the opponent would have to rip his head off to get the free, so in that case, better to just try and mark it everytime :)

gotta disagree mate

He was great as usual .

Actually was the first time I have seen him and sarge play well at the same time.

Disagree Liverpool.
The AFL will be on it quicker than you can poke a stick at it after seeing what's happened with soccer.
At least they will if they've got any sense(oh I forgot who was in charge). :spin :P

You may well be right!
