Richo to miss next two / three games - confirmed

Is it gospel that The Cho is out?

Just preface this by saying I don't have Foxtel so I didn't see the game myself.

The Herald Sun makes no mention of it (Richo's injury) either in the injuries under the match report or the seperate "Casualty list".
Also been listening to SEN most of the morning and now Robbo is in with Doran, again no mention ???

Or unless the club is doing another smoke and mirrors job.

Smooth move RFC. Wallace should have known better and if a player like Richo is ever a "gamble" to play then you rest them.

Just showed on Ch10 Sport before and Richo himself said he probably won't be playing this week against Brisbane. Stupid, stupid decision to play him against the Swans; was obviously nowhere near right to play; stuffed us up this week against the Swans and now will be out next week and maybe more. Had he been rested, would most likely be right to play against the Lions this week.

GO TIGES!!!

I might get lynched for saying this, but Richo being out for a couple is a blessing in disguise.

Over the last two matches I could have sworn the team actually played better when Richo was benched. Not Richo's fault per se but the team was forced to look for other options and it seemed to pay off.

Agree. Playing without Richo has made our team more non-predictable and increased our chance of winning in past seasons also.

It's the usual poor management of injuries by the club. For all of those who are seeing this as a blessing in disguise because it's happened to a player in the twilight of his career and screaming to play kids, what makes you think that the club will manage a younger player any better? They're just as likely to put Cotchin in too early and exacerbate his current injuries.

What's happened is the player in question kept telling everyone that would listen that he was fine, he was right to go, he wanted to play. Richo needs to take some responsibility for his actions.

There's not a player in the league who doesn't do that, Baloo. It's up to the doctors and the coach to make the final decision that the player is not fit to play and will not be selected. If the player in question doesn't like it, tough.

Gee the cats would love to play that forward line, along with the Saints, Crows, Port and anyone else in the eight.
unless you havent looked lately tubeless thats just about all there is. and whats so different about it from the ones who have played there this yr.

riewoldt nahas and morton are still in the side
you dont want to see cotchin play forward you can bet he doesnt have the motor atm to play elsewhere. post would be the best overhead mark at the club aside from richo i take it you dont want to see him developed. hughes well it may be drawing a long bow but i would have thought him being a genuine tall gives us good structure and more importantly we need to find out if he can play at this level.

you go into games with a forward line like that not expecting much the criteria is plainly getting games and senior experience into them. the top sides or the bottom sides sooner or later they have to be played and they have to be persevered with . they will either quickly learn to swim with the big boys or sink.
but i see where your coming from you dont care about development as long as you can have a side that gives you honorable losses week in week out.

me id rather lose by 100 developing kids than lose by 40 with a bunch of never gunna be good enoughs.

Im positive Richo will be the Culprit in all this.

I,d bet London to a brick he said he was right to go and the RFC as unprofessional as it is wouldve not bothered to enforce a week off for him.

I’ve spoken to Richo for 5 minutes in my whole life and I could have told you that he is the kind of guy who could be paralysed from the wait down but still claim he is right to go, some guys are just like that. It’s the club responsibility to hold them back, not the players.

sheesh if i was wallace i would even play hughes. just few criteria though.
first and foremost i would say to him it doesnt matter how many goals he kicks. zilch will be fine.
what he must do is chase tackle present shepherd put the body on the line failure to get down and get dirty will see him back at coburg forever. its time to put the ball in the court of players like hughes he either improves the areas of his game that are poor or he p!sses off.

hf post riewoldt cotchin
f nahas hughes morton
int vickery white.

that should be something close to the forward line of the future so with the future in mind play it.

Best idea I've heard so far. But unfortantely I don't think terry is thing that far ahead.

Wayne Campbell and Tony Free both confirmed tonight at the Sydney tigers aftermatch function that it was a mistake to play him - "a gamble that didnt pay off".

Campbell said he had tendonitis of the hamstring (not a tear!) and wouldnt be playing for the next two to three weeks...

Fools - Campbell should stick to drinking pots

Absolutely.

The same with Cogs a few years back. And Cousins against the Blues.

Ok it is 10-12 weeks out.

The medical staff have made a major and incompetent decision. The person(s) responsible must be sacked before they make any more brilliant medical decisions. This is consistent with the magement of this organisation. Whenever there is an important decision to make, you can guarantee the person who makes it will screw up. How long does this need to be tolerated?

How many Board positions are up for election this year? When are management reps, who are incompetent, going to be summarily dismissed? Or do we just continue to employ duds in the interests of continuity?

Is Tony Free on match committee ? Is he the board member is charge of football ? From this thread he admitted playing Richo was a gamble that didn't pay off....this is a totally unacceptable excuse.

That gamble was not worth it, look at the consequences of this gamble. He knew Richo wasn't right. Is Free the head of football ? If so he should step down, football decision making is becoming a total farce.

We need someone to come in and make wholesale football department changes.
