PUNT ROAD END | Richmond Tigers Forum

The champ turns 32 in March and on the eve of the NAB I just thought I would ask what role we see him playing in 07?

We have PBo, Hughes, Kingsley, Mcguane, Polak, Patto and Schulz plus Riewoldt, all in contention for kpp's in the forward line.

I don't think it matters much where Richo plays in 07.We all know he is going to play the way he has always played.. which is flat out running into space coupled with out bodying opponents etc. and then turning around to go back and face his demons.

Imo he needs to be in the play but have the opportunity to be able to take a breather without the structure falling apart. Thought about forward pocket but that wd give too much opportunity to compete with say Schulz, for the long ball coming in. Hasn't worked in the past..so no.

Rather I would like to see him on for about 20 mins a qr at half forward on the rt of Patto. Patto imo, is going to be a top CHF in the style of Johnathon Brown yes I did say JB, and having Richo alongside and Jack on the other, will force opponents into attempting some very speculative match ups.

Richo from a hff will be able to run to contests all over and the speed of our midfield Bling, Deledio, Foley, Howat, Polo and Tiv etc, will find plenty of loose ball at his feet.

Richo should be asked to take such a role over shorter on ground periods and this might also make a player like Krakouer more effective off the bench.

It might also prolong the career of a player whose contribution over the last 20 years has not been matched by any other. :clap

So I like,

HF Riewoldt Pattison Richo
F Brown Schulz Pettifer.

and I would also like to see Richo practising his bench sitting during the NAB.
