Oh I quake in my boots the day RFC raises Nixon's ire. :P

Wether you are a fan of his or not, Wallace would run rings around Nixon in a slanging match. Little Ricky wouldn't be dealing with Archer there in a televised debate... :hihi

Not to mention a bloke back at the club by the initial K.S. ;D

Ricky Nixon doesn't need to get bagged, he does enough crap himself to look stupid.

He has to be the biggest moron in Australia, and there is a lot of Morons around.

Total Tool. :hihi

I notice that even though you think Nixon doesnt need to be bagged you couldnt help yourself and bagged him anyway ;D

Calling Nixon a tool is very disrespectful....to the word tool.

Ricky has a chip on his shoulder bigger than Brett Ebert's head. It really is a shame when the agent has a bigger ego than his client, and open's his yap just to get himself some publicity. A-Grade-tosser.

Very rare when you can start a thread ON ANY TOPIC and EVERYONE be of the same view.

I hope with increasing media coverage Nixon is never selected to be a panelist on a footy short or some one is mad enough to give him his own reality TV show...

"So you want to be Jerry Maguire?"

Ratings will be abysmal. :hihi

i love nixon, his personality is a breath of fresh air from the robot "personalities" in the AFL circles

;D

This may not be the thread to raise it (tell me to PO!)
but

If a club (any club) drafts Cuz with say their 5th round pick and he falls victim to the drugs in 09 then how does his new club suffer? I can see how RFC would be savaged by the media and the public if say a Delidio tested positive. But if Cuz tests positive then surely everyone knows that RFC gave him a chance and he simply blew it. And the RFC would not come out of it with a bad smell.

So, I can't see any negatives if we draft Cuz with a 5th or 6th round pick. He would definitely be a better risk than an unkown kid around pick 70.

And I can see a big positive. If, and it is a BIG if, Cuz is clean during 09, then come trade time at the end of 09, the GC17 team is gonna have lots of draft picks which they may be willing to trade for experienced quality players. Cousins would fit their criteria if he's been clean for a year, and we pick up maybe a top ten or twenty draft pick grom GC17.

I see it that whomever takes on Cousins would also take on the onus of providing the all the internal support mechanisms for Cousins as well.

The cost of these support mechanisms, and if these failed, might be too costly for the RFC.

I went to primary school with this clown and he was a *smile* then.

If we get him in the National Draft aren't we paying base wages? If so, the support costs may be affordable. Or am I wrong Phanto?

Fair enough. Little blame will be afforded to the club that takes Cousins and it all goes wrong.

Unless the spill over is that some of the clubs younger stars are seen partying with Cousins and they start down the same track as big Cuz.

In 2008…

Rookies earn $32, 100 (which is not included in clubs PTP, some think it is half but it is all)
The other advantage is you commit only for a year of course.

Drafted players earn;
1st Round - $53, 700 + $2, 600 per match played
2nd Round - $48, 700 + $2, 600 per match played
3rd Round Onwards - $46,300 + $2, 600 per match played

Drafted players must be committed to financially for 2 years.

Players who are not first time draft selections, second year players, a rookie or a player promoted from the rookie list must be paid a minimum of $60, 600 plus $2,600 per match played.

See bolded above.

But they can also nominate their salary, which clubs have to then adhere to.
Don't know if Cousins has nominated a salary though

Dont think Cuz would be in too much of a position to put much a price on his head surely.

He will be lucky just to get another guernsey.

As for NIxon ..................................

Ya, hence the word minimum.

Bet your life he has ;)

Won't be ANYTHING like what he previously earnt, but you can rest assured it is more than a base of $60K
