Mummy - Will Richmond be Premiers before I die????
Could it be true that by the end of next weekend, Richmond will be 9th on the ladder only half a game outside the eight? All 3 teams above us on the ladder could / should / expected to loose next weekend and then we play Brisbane at the Dome the following week......................... ?

Ladder as of today

1 Geelong 56
2 Bulldogs 54
3 Hawthorn 52
4 Sydney 38
5 Collingwood 36
6 Adelaide 32
7 Brisbane 32
8 St Kilda 32
9 Kangaroos 30
10 Carlton 28
11 Richmond 26
12 Essendon 24
13 Port Adelaide 16
14 Fremantle 8
15 West Coast 8
16 Melbourne 8

Round 16 Games
Kangaroos vs Collingwood Telstra Dome - Collingwood most likely, could be close
Geelong vs Bulldogs Skilled Stadium - Close game doesnt affect RFC
Richmond vs Essendon MCG - Tigers a massive chance to win and favourites
Brisbane vs West Coast Gabba - Likely Brisbane win
St Kilda vs Hawthorn Telstra Dome - Likely Hawthorn win
Carlton vs Sydney Telstra Dome - Could be close but likely Sydney win
Port Adelaide vs Adelaide AAMI Stadium - Likely Adelaide win ?
Fremantle vs Melbourne Subiaco - Battle of the duds, Likely Freo win maybe ?

So my likely ladder after next weekend Round 16 looks like this:

1 Geelong 60
2 Hawthorn 56
3 Bulldogs 54
4 Sydney 42
5 Collingwood 40
6 Adelaide 36
7 Brisbane 36
8 St Kilda 32
9 Richmond 30 Higher % than the roos by 2% currently
10 Kangaroos 30
11 Carlton 28
12 Essendon 24
13 Port Adelaide 16
14 Fremantle 12
15 West Coast 8
16 Melbourne 8

Am I being an idiot? Do I have too much time on my hands? Am I feeling a ittle nervous? Have I taken my medication? Are there too many if's and but's? Am I on drugs? What is the meaning of life?

One game at a time mate. This is Richmond we're talking about. We're too well versed in the art of getting ahead of ourselves, particularly the players which is the concerning bit. With the short week, travel back from Perth and playing a hard running Bummer team, we're liable for a spanking this week.

There are too many games we should have won to get us into the top 8, it would be good for us if we just keep winning, but this is a game we should win, and like the game vs. Carlton, a game that we usually lose.

I really hope we beat the Dons though, cause it would be sweet.

Do I have too much time on my hands? yes.
Am I feeling a ittle nervous? you tell us.
Have I taken my medication? as above, though i doubt it.
Are there too many if's and but's? for sure.
Am I on drugs? depends if you have taken your medication.
What is the meaning of life? 42.

No you're right, i was looking at this ladder situation last night too. But i'm not holding my breath as we are the Tigers after all.

Out of the 7 remaining games we would need 5 at least me thinks.
Tough games: Geelong, Adelaide away, and Hawthorn.
Possibles: Essendon, Brisbane, Fremantle and Melbourne all in Melbourne.

We need to knock off a top team to have a chance and that could be the Adelaide game (half our wins this year have come interstate so why not!) No Porplyzia, no Burton and they have lost 4 on the trot!

Interesting for once!!!!!!!!!

No. Yes. Are you? Apparently not. Yes. Would explain it. 7

Thats it MrRuss - Get fired up!

Think im gonna just post on PRE today and not do any work cos I'm feeling like that first weekend in September just maybe - might not be a long weekend away in the caravan weekend anymore??

AGree Mr Russ - Possibles: Essendon, Brisbane, Fremantle and Melbourne all in Melbourne. Brisbane could be a hard one? Ithink we might have a show VS Adelaide away as we are playing on one of our interstate grounds!

Sure we will need some luck but aren't we due for some of that?

Am I being an idiot? Possibly....
Do I have too much time on my hands? I work for myself so yes.....
Am I feeling a little nervous? Quite....
Have I taken my medication? I take the red pill at 2pm and the little blue pill late at night......
Are there too many if's and but's? Yes but it's ok to dream a little dream aint it?
Am I on drugs? No comment at this time.
What is the meaning of life? Watching Richo kicking 12 goals on Matty Scarlett in the 2009 Grand Final.

Good post JB,yep you have a right to be excited...it was the youngest team we've ever sent interstate and for the kids to play like that without Richo, and on the back of the Polak accident, I reckon they did fantasticaly....

The beleif of the kids that they can do it interstate against a side thats been there and done that would be great for them.

Yes,the doomsayers will say this, and that, and whatever, but hey let em be doubters...I'd rather be positive about the situation and let the kids have a dead set go against the Dummers...

Go Tiggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggges!!!!!!!!!

Eat em aliveeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee! :clap

yes, we should have beat saints/dogs for sure....they will cost us in the end and against blues we played bad which will put a dagger through our heart

ouch

go tigers >:D

In all of the years where we finished 9th, one could always point to a lost opportunity during the season that should have been taken. Generally, it was bleedingly obvious at the end of the game when that opportunity was lost that it would come back and bite us on the bum. It always did.

This year is no different. Think back to that St Kilda game on that Saturday night when we had enough of the play to win by 10 goals and enough opportunities in the last few minutes to sneak it anyway but still blew it by three points.

Reverse that result and where would we be sitting RIGHT NOW?

Who'd be a Richmond supporter?

The problem is that even if we get all four of those, that only gets us to 10 1/2 wins. I think only one team has ever made it to the finals on that form (Bris 1997, can anyone correct me?)

St K, WB and Carl games will hurt us in the end. I'd rather see us finish strongly and head in to the off-season with an "unfinished business" frame of mind.

As it stands, we don't deserve to be in the 8. Lots of ifs and buts and should have and could haves but at the end of the day we haven't been good enough to beat sides above us on the ladder. Hopefully we can change that in the run home, but at this stage, i think our ladder position is an accurate reflection of where we are at as a team.

mmmmmmmm

its hard to believe that if we had have beaten the Doggies instead of a draw and beaten the Saints insted of 3 point loss then we would be no lower than 8th and no higher than 6th on the ladder right now as we speak.......... annoying.

The reality is we lose to the sides we should be losing to, and we are generally beating the ones we should (Carlton still hurts).

This will have us just outside the action, which is a fair reflection of where we are at right now. Big improvement, but quite a ways to go yet.
