Rnd 8 - The other games

I'd dispute that heavily antman - Richmond made a game of cramping Adelaide in the midfield when they had the ball, so they couldn't move it quickly.
When Richmond had the ball they pushed forward and chipped the ball around.

Richmond beat Adelaide clearly in the midfield with contested possessions and hard ball gets, tackles, and chase downs.. If this is what you mean by "cramping" them, I agree.

If Richmond chipped the ball around when they had possession and "pushed forward", this does not constitute a flood either.

Don't call it a flood then if it clearly wasn't. Just admit you got the terminology wrong.

By pushing all players into the midfield. That constitutes a flood. Hence I got the terminology correct. The term cramping was used because when you have so many people flooded back, there is little room for players to move (especially on the Telstra Dome). Nowhere did I suggest that chipping the ball constituted flooding, I was just suggesting that the chipping made the game hard to watch.

Saw the Neon Leon show after our great win.
Pies were red hot over a very disinterested and dispirited Cats.
Cats have no injuries neither so wonder how smug Bomber is at the moment.

Pies winning at the moment will only mean more tears later on I hope, am impresses with some of their players like Dane Swan, Neon Leon is playing more consitent and Rocca gives a better target up forward with Fraser in the ruck.

Did we "flood" back or "flood" the midfield? Your post indicates profound confusion. Either you did not watch the game or you do not know what you are talking about. I am tending towards the latter.

But that's OK - keep insisting Richmond "flooded" and that's what won us the game.

Here's a hint about flooding - flooding means rapidly moving all or nearly all your players into the half where the ball is moving to, usually defensively as flooding forward does not make much tactical sense unless the game is tight and you want to bottle the ball up with a minute to go.

I guess you could "flood" the midfield leaving fewer than normal players in your forward and back lines if the ball was moving into the centre. I saw no evidence of this though.

Were you at the game Interested? If you watched it on the box you might have thought the midfield was "cramped" - mainly because the tiges were doing a great job of contesting the hard ball, tackling and pressuring the Adelaide midfield.

For those that were proclaiming the Bulldogs as premiership favourites after round 1, look now.

After their loss to Sydney, they now sit only one game ahead of us.

As said previously, a team of ruckrovers can only take you so far.
It's the key position players added in as well that gets you all the way.
The Bulldogs recruiting staff are VERY aware of this fact.

They might only be 1 game ahead of us but lets not forget they slaughtered us & Sydney beat them by 4 goals in Sydney & the Swans beat us by 118 points.Once they get some big men back they will cause plenty of problems.I think they will finish between 3 & 6.
