Robert Harvey to retire

If he made his debut in 1988, then he has actually played in 21 VFL/AFL seasons, hasn't he? Unless he missed a full season somewhere. Can anyone verify this? Even Kevin Bartlett (19) and Michael Tuck (20) didn't achieve this.

Is 21 seasons a record?
Correct, 21 seasons

Michael Tuck played 20 seasons
Kevin Bartlett played 19 seasons

So fair chance that it is a record

What a champion Robert Harvey has been.
To play for 20 years, and not have a bad word said about him as a player or a person, by opposition player or supporter is a credit to him.
Well played Harves!!!!

Never got a hard ball in his career & couldnt kick over a jam tin & symbolises why st.kilda are the epitome of sporting mediocrity

He's evasiveness was unbelievable, sometimes I swear he was invisible to opposition, well done Robert Harvey!

agree, he was one of the rare players who could dance around the opposition like Ali. Never seemed to run out of time when he had the ball.

Future Legend of the Game for sure.
