by the way if we didnt sign rodan we may have had a full rookie list at this point in time i know which option i would rather have.
Good to see Claw you put so much faith in kids who have been passed up once already via the ND.
ive always got faith in kids madcow get 6 on the rookie list and we might just find one or two good players if we are lucky.
as for rodan as i said before its a bloody disgrace and poor management giving him 2 yrs.

roden was a highly credentialled junior although most clubs thought he was too short - thats why he wasnt such a high selection
RFC have invested - 3 years into roden (maybe 4 - not sure) either way you can subtract 1 because of a season ending injury, clubs cant afford to throw that investment away - particularly at Rodens age

he has some ability and has not had the benefit of others to prove himself in the TW coached side - there has been some considerable improvemenet seen in other players less talented or experienced than Roden since TW came on board

a 2yr performance contract is a good outcome in my opinion (as well as the RFC's opinion) - lets see what happens next year with him??

i disagree clubs cannot afford to keep players on the list to long who dont show adequate improvement. if after 4 yrs we ltrade a rodan type and he goes on to become a good player some where else so be it.one of the main reasons we have failed as a club has been the inability to properly turn players over this failing is not only one of the clubs but most supporters as well.
players we have kept at the club too long in recent yrs instead of trading away thus rejuvenating the list are.hilton tivendale pettifer krakouer chaffey hall hyde richardson rodan bowden rogers zantuck biddiscombe fiora holland ottens and dragacevic and these are just a few of them.every player mentioned has spent a minimum of 4 yrs at the club.and with the exception of richo and bowden not one of them has been or would be a great loss.richo in particular would prove nigh on impossible to replace because of the lack of talls we have had on our list for the last 5 or 6 yrs.

Claw why are you worrying about Rodan with Chaffey, Tivva and Stafford still around and taking up Rookie oxygen and heaven forbid, senior spots?

Rodan's contract is easily ditchable because the base payments are low and he rolls around this year having a go because he doesn't think the club are a complete bunch of bastards.

Try and find a little perspective will you.

It's time some on here just get over the fact the DRod has been given another two years and move on. Geez, I hope he comes on big time next year - he has ability but needs to work on decision making. Good luck Dman

is this not a thread about d rodan as far as im concerned we made a mistake by giving him 2 yrs.sweeping it under the carpet wont make it any less of a mistake.
chaffey *smile* and stafford have copped it from me in threads about them.
