if we held so much of the cards in the morton trade and got a bargain why wasnt it used aswell regarding mcmahon instead of giving up the kitchen sink?
the guy was out of contract and chose us over port yet we also give the dogs a nice little helping hand
we are a laughing stock for a reason
Hear Hear......think I said this and was howled down. The recruiting staff at RIchmond are dellusional in their thinking. The weaknesses are easily nidentifiable yet we trade for more guys running aorund the flanks. Our deficiencies were once again shown up clearly this year and we ignored these. Once again our recruiting stuff ups have seen us pick guys who yes can get the ball but we have yet to pick up a true ruckman who can get the ball to them.
We are going to be like Collingwood in the failure decades.....a team of 6 footers....(gee that looks like 6 poofters) with all our flankers and receivers.
The recruiting of players to our club is farcical.
:rofl :hihi :rofl :hihi :rofl
pick 19 described as the kitchen sink.
he chose us over port but
we are the laughing stock :
for such a pathetic performed team we manage to attract some pretty good players.
we managed to beat the most popular club in the league who are super rich and a regular finalist in collingwood to nathan brown and kane johnson.
troy simmonds chose us,mitch morton chose us and jordan mcmahon chose us over a grand finalist.
that`s pretty good for a club who has "won" 2 wooden spoons in the last 4 years.
i bet collingwood would love to have that record instead of cameron wood for pick 14. :hihi
now tell me who these clubs are who are doing better than us in attracting players.
hmm we took brown and johnson. at the time we should have ignored them we should have been doing what we did in 2004.
we should have got johnson the yr before in a trade for that dud holland.
i dont think johnson would have come if he realised how badly run and run down the club was and is. he said this himself.he was amazed at how amaterish we are.
we got brown because of wallace. if wallace got the gig somewhere else im sure brown would be there. im sure browny thinks it was the worst career move hes ever done coming to a club with no hope of success over the remaining span of his career. its this that had judd shying away from us he wanted success and he just coulndt see it happening at rfc.
why would a player want to join the wooden spooners especially when they are odds on to win another one next yr.
troy simmonds could have been taken in the psd he came to us because we were the only team in the whole comp who was prepared to give him a 5 yr contract i think freo offered him 3yrs.
mitch morton sheesh we used pick 35 on a kid who could not get a game at wce even though they were riddled with injuries thru the yr. he chose us because he thinks he will get a regular game. hes another who could have been taken in the psd but we chose to give up valuable early picks when we didnt have to.
jordan mcmahon pick 19 was way over the top. another we could have taken in the psd. if miller and wallace wanted them so bad it should have been pick 51 for morton i am sure this could have been done the eagles would want something for him rather than risk getting nothing at all and mcmahon taken in the psd. why mcmahon chose rfc instead of going home to a family support base in sa is beyond me. i can only assume we are paying big bucks for his services.
pick 19 is the kitchen sink. some supporters are starting to realise just how important early picks are. unfortunately there are far to many like you , who continue to treat them as nothing more than trinkets. unfortunately it seems miller and wallace have little regard for early picks as well. the single biggest reason we have been so poor for so long has been our inability incompetence and disregard when it comes to utilising our early picks.
finally you take the *smile* out of collingwood. talk about hypocritical. they took wood the most promising ruckman in the trade period. a first round pick in 2004. hes had 3 yrs of development at brisbane he has another yr of learning to go imo. collingwood used their pick wisely imo. at the very least they attempted to overcome a list deficiency in getting him.unlike the rabble footy club who didnt make a real effort at getting a ruckman in the trade period.
hmm i wonder how many genuine ruckmen we have on our list. :rofl
