WIth all this talk of rookies and how much they cost are they worth it ect, it get me wondering.

Which AFL club has lead the way with rookies. Who has got the most games out of the rookie list since its inception. I accept that maybe the worse the side more players elevated but still would be keen to now what type of player (tall, short, medium, forward or back.

Just another way to pass the time till 06 comes rolling around....

I think Kerr was pick 15 in a National Draft, another one we passed on!!!

Adelaide have done pretty well too. Picked up Nathan Bock, Ben Rutten :o, Martin Mattner and Paul Thomas - all in the 2002 rookie draft. Only Thomas was delisted, and he's turned out to be pretty handy at Essendon.

Hopefully the Tiges can unearth a future FB like Rutten in the rookie draft this year

The Swans have half a list off the rookie list. Buchanan and Schneider are two great examples.
The secret- get heaps of them- it worked for the swans.

the swannies have a minimum requirment of rookies that must be taken if i am not wrong, 6 or 8 or something

Surely it's the Bombers - they promote a handy player almost every year. Here's some names:

Mark Johnson
Dean Rioli
Damien Peverill
Nathan Lovett-Murray
Andrew Lovett

The take the full quota every year. The Eagles might be the only other club to match this recently.

Makes us look stupid.

cox fletcher green jones lynch and nicoski are a few that spring to mind at wce.
at ess johns mark johnson peverill rioli lovett lovett -murray have all come from the rookie draft.
imo these 2 clubs have utilised the rookie system better than most for a long period of time.all players mentioned are all current players it doesnt include those who have come and gone ie moorecroft at essendon.

It is blindingly obvious, from 6 rookies you have twice the chance of getting a Cox than from 3.

As noted....Eagles, Crows and Bombers easily.  The more rookies we have the more chance of finding a diamond in the rough. Simple really!

I read that the Tigers were going to pick up a full list of rookies this year, so maybe no need to waste a trip to tell the 'blibbering idiots'.

Cheers
