Christmas is a lot different to Good Friday in religious significance. Good Friday makes Christmas look like a celebration of Christ's first haircut. It is the most important date on the Christian calendar by a long way.

Really ? So Italy & Ireland, probably two of the more extreme Catholic countries that I can think, don't have a public holiday for Good Friday yet they do for Christmas. How odd.

Yes that is odd. Good Friday is what it is all about. Christ sacrificing himself for our sins. Christmas isn't even his real birthday.

If this is true, disappointing we did not get to play vs Melbourne in Round 1- to coincide with the Rich vs Melb match Rd 1 from 1908.

Well done PROFO, now if we could only pinpoint what month Good Friday actually falls in we might know when he DIED.
The Christians stole easter as the time to reflect on Christs death off the pagans as they couldn't allow heathens to celebrate their obscene spring harvest rituals.
