Round 1 not all gloom and doom

Although we did have to wait until tonight :rofl

Good ol' Collingwood......... God bless them. Spent all that moolah sending the boys off to the US for high altitude training in the off season. Appointed some expensive Defence guru as a fitness co-ordinator.. Got all their big guns back fit and well after being depleted by injury last year.

Fired up beautifully in the first quarter. The new kid Thomas kicks their first goal, then another plus a big speckie. Smiles all round like rats with gold teeth.

The Crows get on top in the second quarter but the fit Pies come back to trail by only one point at the final changeover. The scene is set for the mighty Magpies to blaze away to victory in front of their fanatical home crowd.

End result............. they did not score at all in the last quarter whilst letting the Crows blast another 5 goals.

Moral to this story? No matter how bad you may feel, remember there is always someone worse off

I dont think the pies are worse off this week than we are. We are by far the worst team going around based on rd 1 efforts.

There is no way Collingwood are worse off than us. They were competitive against a top 4 team. We were absolutely annihalated against a possibly up & coming side.

Sure our side never gave a yelp. Poor ol' Collingwood once again conned their supporters into thinking they were a champion side before jumping overboard at 3 quarter time. They scored 0:0, zilch, zip, zero in the final term. At least our guys hung around to face the music :

i dont think think we are the worst side going around based on rnd 1 efforts. i think we are the worst side going around based on performances over the last 5 or so yrs. even last yr is glossed over by most ferals because we won some early games and ended up with 10 wins.ffs we won just 2 of our last 13 games thats almost frawleyesqe with few injuries and a favourable draw.
im continually amazed that ferals cant see the list for what it is and that the majority of the 20 odd senior players are crap as well as a few juniors as well.
and ghost im with you coll were beaten by a better team on the night i reckon they have every chance of making the 8.

Agree with everything there Clawsy cept the Collingwood bit i will wait a coupla weeks on them but they had a red hot go so you gotta give them that. The Crows are a class outfit.

I reckon Rocca might struggle a bit this year. Our own Campo lost a fair bit of pace after doing his achilles and Rocca has always blown a bit hard after running up and down the ground a few times. That used to be the way to beat him, run him around so that he was too stuffed to do anything.

Well lets hope so anyway. He's not my favourite footballer, lets say.He's a mark and kick man, and tries to throw his weight around on the smaller players-bit of a thug and ugly too. ;D

Wow...... the gloom and doom merchants are in their element. Nothing like a big loss to bring them out of the woodwork

All I can say is keep the faith Darksiders. It must have been very hard last season when Browny was firing and we were doing very well. But fate stepped in and you death riders got your wish.

FFS Claw....... everyone knows we dont have the best senior list in the comp and understands how it was allowed to happen under past administrations. What is important now is we support the list and the coaching staff we currently have, not lambast it at every opportunity.

Two things are as good as certain. We wont be the only team the Bulldogs thump this season and we are not the worst side in the comp.
