Round 12 Changes V Demons - WE CAN WIN THIS!

I find it relatively funny that people are bringing up his weight now. He has his lowest skin folds since he arrived at Melbourne - and no one was really having a go at him last year.

Geez how fat was he when he arrived? ;)
You don't need skin fold tests to see that he has ballooned.
I saw a photo of him the other day that told the story.
Will he be retained this week?

I may be wrong but it appeared there was a clear lack of leadership for the Dees on the park and Daniher has clearly lost his mojo. he looked more stressed than I have ever seen him in the box. Neitz obviously being pulled at the very last minute was very unhelpful to their preparation. Apparently Yze didn't know he was playing until the last moment. Pretty poor management.

Should that make a difference? You're an emergency, and an AFL player. He would have trained during the week in an attempt to play. He surely would have had some inkling Neitz was not going to play after the club sent out a press release during the week telling the media he wouldn't.

Oh no Byron's weight isn’t an issue. In fact I find it vaguely inspirational when I squeeze into my XL footy jumper every Saturday that there is someone in the AFL in worse shape than me.

Seriously though I have to agree with the D’s supporters, something was really wrong with them on Friday night. If Richo was on song they would have been beaten by more than 10 goals by the bottom club.

It was reported at the beginning of the week that Neitz would miss, then it was reported that he might play, then he was pulled at the very last minute. It's pretty ridiculous situation all things considered.

FWIW if Richardson hadn't played when he had the fractured eye a few weeks ago, I would have thought exactly the same thing. It's very hard for a team to get their focus when they don't know whether a key player, who is also their leader, is going to play or not. The mind games don't just play on the oppositions thought processes.
Surely it's not that big a stretch to think Neitz being withdrawn at the last moment would have had an effect on Yze and the team?
IMO the Dees should have stuck to their initial decision and allowed the team to prepare without him in the side.

On Byron mate the only reason he now has a low skin fold is because his fat gut is stretching the skin beyond the limits of its elasticity........He is bigger than a barn door. ;D

Agreed, I don't care what his skin fold says he looks fat, just like Rioli did.
