Round 16 V Roos Match Day Thread

only richmond can give away a 42 point half time lead to a draw!
But we were hard done by the umpires with free kicks in our forward 50.

I hate to talk about umps but my god they made it hard for us today. WE couldn't buy a holding the ball decision and THEY couldn't miss one. Shocking.

WHY DID WE KEEP ON KICKING LONG TO 4 ON ONES?
WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT CRAP AFTER HALF TIME?

BTW, I SAW THAT SPRINT BY HISLOP TOO, HE MOVED LIKE LIGHTENING, JUST MISSED CATCHING HIM (A LOT OF GOOD IT WOULD DO WITH THE STUPID UMPIRES) . ALSO MADE SOME HARD HITS.

SHANE EDWARDS WAS VERY GOOD TOO, CONSIDERING HE HAS THE BODY OF A PREPUBESCENT GIRL.

BUT DAMNIT, THIS MAKES ME ANGRY.

DID WE TRY TO TANK OR ARE WE JUST RUBBISH?
I HAD TO SIT WITH 4 NORTH SUPPORTERS AND I JUST COULDNT REALLY BELIEVE WHAT WAS HAPPENING

WHERE BOTH TEAMS JUST TRYING TO OUT TANK EACH OTHER?

IN SUMARRY = >:(

Hislop, dont underestimate his game today, some hard hits, pressure around the stoppages and 6 marks...also im going to put something to bed now, he AINT SLOW, i saw this player i couldnt make him out first cause he was sprinting down the center square to run down a roos player which he nearly got him and then couldve given up there but decided to dive to attempt a smoother, as he got up i thought 'what the" that was hislop my god didnt think he was that quick, not sure how they showed it on TV but he had some toe which bloody suprised me.

Don't undo your good Lids work Astute, Hislop is glacial.

Happened a lot when Newman took the kick-ins after a point. Today his favourite was "kicking it long to a ruckman slightly off center to the right". He's so slow, and unbelievably predictable. Well, to everyone else except for Vickery or Graham, neither of which managed to mark a single torp from the opposition goalsquare all day.

We looked SO much better when McMahon was kicking in, predominantly in the 1st half. Newman should be left around the wings as a link up man, as his delivery inside 50 isn't bad, and he's capable of kicking a long running goal (unlike 95% of our remaining midfielders).

I'm ok with the long kicks when there is no short option. Naturally, it will be better when Goose learns to take an overhead mark and Post/Vickery get a bit more size.

In addition, we had our three best crumbers (Cotch/Cuz/Foley) out so were always going to struggle around the spoil situations.

The great thing is you can now buy a whopper with cheese, minus tomato an pickle add bacon and have it finished by the time you order a big mac and then hve that finished by the time you order a fillet burger with bacon cheese, marvellous how close they have put the big 3

Great to see ritchie continue his rich form...looked like a leader out there today.

Edwards wow best game ive seen him play in a creative sense
morton and jack both very good in the air and kicked good too, jacks 3 goals today followed up from his 3 goals of last week...

Lids, class act didnt have 30 ave disposals of the last 2 weeks but his foot passing today just brilliant, when he broke clear from the center bounce and on his left boot hit jack lace out on the chest, just vintage...Also Firrito tried to tag him most of the day (that didnt work as he only had 11 touches and 49 Super coach points) well he and harding both alternated off him, harding and newman also went head to head alot when harding drifted fwd...

Nahas worked extremely hard and thursty has been terrific of late, just has an air of confidence about him, he is without doubt our number 1 FB.

Was really happy with Vickery, more for the fact that he doesnt want to waste a posession, thinks about it, doesnt mind even taking them on, having a run and baulking his oppenants..

Post, moved well the boy had a couple of nice runs down the wing, sprayed a few shots at goals though, also took another great contested mark.

Now on Mcmahon some perhaps were happy with his game, it was so so, he had 26 touches but received his touches ala bowden, cheap kicks passed to him, sure he ran the lines that we know he always does, but his handbals and kicking for me today were not up to it, not sure if it was the wind but especially his handballs went astray..He's game was his normal jordie game, on 2 occassions he had the chance to tackle and didnt, IMO didnt want body contact...

I saw that Hislop chase, I was one who thought he was too slow, but he was flying through the centre and his desperation was awesome.

I see that a number of people are concerned at Dean Polo's performance.

I must admit, I have never seen him do anything much for us apart from his first game, but I wonder what types of roles he is being asked to play? When we drafted him, I remember that there was a big wrap on him for a tagging job he did on Ryan Griffin in the U18 Champs. In hindsight, that might not have been such a big deal anyway (can't believe people crucify Tambling ahead of this bloke with regard to Buddy Franklin).

But is Polo being given much of a run with role in playing for us? If not, any apparent reasons why?

Only saw the replay this morning as being in SA i had to endure power and crow games on FTA / Foxtel.

How we lost after half time was really annoying. Some good signs from the players. Someone please tell me why Jake King didnt get a holding the ball decision today ? That was insane. Two in a row that were clear as day in fact.

Edwards, Hislop, Tambling, Jack, Morton, Post all very good signs.

only seen the second half of the game but King didn't look too good. Jack was pretty average too and what the hell has happened to Foley?

lol, which game were you watching? Hawthorn/Collingwood?

I heard on MMM that Chimp & Cuz were out with a virus, but Chimp was seen chatting with the players after the game and Cuz was in the coaches box today. If they both had the 'virus', I doubt they'd be spreading it around.

Heard it was herpes virus and they wore pants the whole time.

My biggest qualm with Hilslop at the moment is his slow disposal. He is getting caught holding the ball a lot because he often takes an eternity to get rid of it.

sorry .. my fault im in brisbane game was live miissed the first half. they couldnt kick a goal while i watched.
left the room when they got the last goal. sorry
