Round 18 - other games

Suckling is a interesting one. When the Hawks had a few mids out and Shaun Burgoyne was spending more time on the ball, Suckling was struggling to have a real impact on the game. Now with the Hawks almost at full power, Burgoyne slides back as the one to stop along with Birchall. You can’t stop three great running and kicking defenders. It’s just not viable. With a fit midfield every one goes down a cog and Suckling is the one who has got off the chain in recent weeks. But your right Barnzy, he sizzles the ball. And I think once Buddy comes back and Hodge gets more game time, Suckling will have more of a impact with Hodge sliding onto a wing and becoming the +1 in the Hawks back six. And Hodge is the best on field general in the game. Dominates games. But then Suckling goes even further down the chain.

No we haven't, but we have had to listen to these commentators make a million excuses for esseendon's performance tonight.

Amazing reluctance to focus on how bad that performance was. It's like watching a GC or GWS game. I don't recall them losing worse than this under Knights, nor the injury list being any shorter.

How's this for denial on bomberblitz ?

"Before anyone puts money on Howthorn for the premiership, should be noted that they conceded 86 points, 26 scoring shots against a team playing like a bottom 6 team, missing 2/3 of the forward line. Decent team that can defend in a final will take care of them."

So beating a team who, for better or worse, are SIXTH on the ladder, by 94 points, is not a good look? :o :o :o

Richmond would be getting knives thrown at us.
They are ahead in development also.

A protected species,the Verucas.

Knights got them to September with an injury list so extensive they were forced to play Quinn the Irishman in a final. And his sides never conceded 27 goals, even when the opposition's best forward was playing.

That's 3 big loses in 4 weeks and they have Adel, North, Carl, Us and the Pies to finish off their season well and truly.

It's ok, they have both Hird and Thomson, and the Weapon, they will be fine... :help

Would Hodge be the most versatile player in the competition?? Equally effective in the forward line, backine or in the guts. Can play on mid size defenders or be a marking option in the 50.

Only other guys would come close would be Goddard or Deledio?

Not sure leysy's seen a player have an Impact Vs Possession ratio as great as Rioli.

Star.

Not many players make the whole crowd hold their breath whenever they are near the ball. He's a freak. Best player in the league to watch IMO. Plenty don't rate him still, but he's a match winner. There is youtube footage of his time playing school footy that's pretty impressive too.

Rioli has the highest ratio of game changing acts per possession than any player I've ever seen, and man I wish we had a forward who averaged 6 tackles a game and two goals

Buuuuttttt, I rate Natuni higher because he never disappears from games. Like Rioli he regularly doesn't get a touch for a 10-15 minute period in games, but Nic Nat is always in the ruck contests at least having a influence.

he did against both Adeliade and the Swans
