Round 2-The other games

Just as you write Sydney off..
Despite the win I think the Swans won't make much of an impact this year, they got the Hawks at a good time on a ground they have never played on.The Hawks are underdone but will get going soon.Nevertheless its was a good win by the Swans. What was the crowd?

btw Stuart Dew seems to have got fatter than last year. How can he possibly of done that after a full AFL preseason? The man just must drink of bucket of lard after every training.
yes that's true, they had him cut down to just the one bucket a day

33,000. Not bad.

The Swans clearly set themselves for this game. Kirk was inspired.

Yeah I'm positive he wasn't this big when he retired yet he hasn't taken any weight off since last year. Sides must be able to exploit his lack of speed.

How can you get 102 total hitouts in a match, especially one where the teams kicked a combined 37 goals? You'd think the game would have been non-stop stoppages.

The Swans were back to their premiership best in terms of reducing the game to a series of contests. And it seemed that Renouf was the Hawks only ruckman.

Essendon doing a fair job on Freo at the minute - 32 to 10. Strange seeing Tarrant playing down back for them.

Slow start to the year for Luke Hodge.

Hodge aint fit neither is Brown.

Thge hawks have had a poor preseason with many players taking the field less than fit so the scribes are saying.

No Croad no Gilham, no Sewell, no Crawford theres 4 holes to fill off the top of my head.

Will take a few more weeks for the Hawks to start up id reckon.

Hurley will be a jet, no doubt.

If he was in theis year we would almost take him at 2.

Zaharakis is a intresting one, he like Arrowsmith could turn into perfect wingmen. Someone will take a punt on both of them. Odds are one of them will become a really good AFL footballer.

Just watching Zaharkis. Gee he has time and great awareness. I would have taken him as a 17 year old late in the 2007 draft.

Only half watching the Dons game but saw the young Irish kidd Quinn commit a horrendous coach killing turnover late in the first quarter. The guys in the media who said he's probably not ready look to be correct. Nice run and carry though, maybe we could trade a 2nd rounder for him.
