Round 21- Ticketed?

The following is from today's Jungle Beat newsletter.

Richmond V Essendon Ticket Update

The Round 21 clash between Richmond and Essendon has not as yet been a declared ticketed game. At this stage, those with a 17-game RFC membership will be able to attend the game and enter with their 2007 membership card. Further information will be posted on the Club's website if the situation changes.

This is what I have thought all along so far. Just hoping that we turn up on the day and can sit in the GA area (which will be a smaller area than usual, but at the moment nothing shows on any sites anywhere that there won't be GA)If this area does go on sale as reserved then the AFL will have to announce that it is "ticketed only". Whatever happens though the Tiges will have hardly anyone there supporting them.

I'm not worried about there being less Richmond supporters there...if only 15-20,000 turn up, they'll put out enough noise for double that number easily. It's the Richmond way.

I don't like this grey area that's happening with regard to being ticketed or not...they should just announce that it's fully ticketed or there WILL be GA seating. Not the "oh we'll decide if it's ticketed when we can be bothered or if the bureau forecasts rain or if I have spag bol for dinner" approach.

Let people have the piece of mind that they can turn up and get a seat, or give people the chance and advance notice to book a decent seat. No wishy-washy.

In 30 years I've paid bribes and gone through and over fences to get into games without ever being locked out. If it happens, the term 'deranged fan' will be given new meaning. :pullhair :veryupset :bash

Be warned - if you have a 17-game membership and want to guarantee entry through Ticketmaster, you must purchase a seat at a minimum cost of $22, i.e. PAY FOR ENTRY TWICE. They can't or won't sell you a standing room ticket, or a ticket for the cost of the booking fee only (which is offered for other matches at a cost of $3.25 if you have a club membership).

Ummmm we have 17 game memberships and bought 4 seats for 13.30 each in the ponsford stand.

Didn't have to pay twice as entry was covered.

Fair enough M33. I asked the girl to answer all of my questions twice just to be sure and was told, definitively, $22 minimum. Looks as though the people at Ticketmaster all have a different interpretation of the rules, just like the bloody umpires.

Edit: I'm only after standing room and $13 is still too much when I've already *smile*ing paid!

I am pretty sure if you have a 17 game membership that all you are charged is a $3.30 booking fee. So i suggest you grab your membership ASAP and head to the nearest Ticketmaster, don't even bother to ask those blonks on the phone.

No worries LTRTR, but I never get tickets for the footy over the phone, I don't trust them.

I really don't mind paying $13 to secure a seat, means I can enjoy a few drinks before the game without having to worry about sitting in a chair for two hours.

Have done as advised and gone to Ticketmaster in person. The $3.30 ticket is what I was hoping to purchase, but was told TM don't sell this type of ticket for MCG games. Missing's price of $13.30 is the cheapest available. Told them I'd leave it for now and hope that the game doesn't become ticket-only.

The actual cost is not the issue; it's the failure to offer the simple service I require (i.e. standing room entry) and the feeling of having additional $ extorted from me by a third, unnecessary party. This requirement to pre-book for everything has only been introduced to line the pockets of ticket agencies, e.g. for Cup week this year.   >:(

Didn't want to miss out so went to ticketmaster today. Bought a seat for $13.30. They couldn't tell me how many general admission tickets were available because they don't sell them . She had no idea if was going to become all ticketed. Took the chance and bought a seat.

I bought three reserved seat tickets yesterday through Ticketmaster's Web page. The 17 game member's seats were $13.30 each and the ordinary Adult ticket was $33.
The only seats on offer were on Level 4 of the Southern Stand and the Ponsford stand. Got the Ponsford ones and we are in row X. Anyone know how many rows at top of Ponsford stand?
