Round 3 - The other games

Off colour doggies easily account for bottom 8 hawks. 9 consecutive points in the third by the dogs saved the Hawks from an a grade behind kicking.

Isn't Cyril a gem? The difference between him and the second best hawk is cavernous. Actually without Cyril, Hawks are in bottom 4 territory.

Bagel for Duddy. Round 3 - 2 goals - on target for 15 for the year (I rounded him up).

1 -3 next week!

Bottom 8 Hawks, surely you're kidding. Easily account? Hawks lost by 16. They also have Sewell, Taylor, Young, Burgoyne to come back - all best 22 players. They will finish top 6 with a decent run with injuries, I'd put money on that.

Maybe I should eat my words about Harvey & Freo failing this season.

Can't believe how good they're taking up to the Cats.

I went to the Dogs v Hawks game. Big Bad Bustling was the difference in the end and it was great to see other fans going sick at their own team's players. Rioli is definately a pleasure to watch and Carl P will be a good player for the Hawks. And the umpires need to go see their sponsor at least once a week.

Great performance.

Shows you what can be achieved through smart recruiting and sticking to a plan.

Mark Harvey should be congratulated.

Geelong are just sputtering along ATM - they weren't too flash against Hawks either.

Awesome. I picked Freo too, mainly because Geelong were coming off a short break and a hard game against the Hawks.

Good stuff - Freo playing extremely well. How'd Barlow go?

Hawks are lucky umps crucified Melbourne in the first half of game 1 or they'd be 0 - 3 ATM.

PS hawks are a one man side - Cyril goes down and tehy are bottom 4 material!

Like I said mark down 3 losses in a row next week!

Freo have done so well in getting order players out of the state comps. Broughton, Ballentyne, Barlow. Three players who all look to be long term players. That is what we have to get better at. Plucking the hidden gem.

Quiet. About 17 touches, 50 in AFL dream team.

Believe it or not, 1st v 2nd next week is St Kilda v Freo at Etihad.

Freo could go 6-0 until they meet Brisbane at the Gabba in Round 7.

Just shows me the situation we are in, we can get out of it. We just have to be smart about it.

Kahlefeldt today for Coburg was very impressive. He was a very good player for Southport and looks to be too good for VFL level. Has the fitness levels and ability to gut run to play AFL and his kicking skills were very good. One to look at. Myles Sewell played well today. There are guys that can be taken very late in the draft that could help and help straight away right under our noses. Webberley and Nason were taken in similar circumstances.

The concessions for the GC17 are not the end of the world.

Be smart in recruitment, and focus on development. It will turn around.

Good thing I saw today was a future RFC forward line that will bring smiles to our faces. Astbury, Griffiths, Taylor all showed that in the not too distant future they could help Riewoldt and Morton. Now we need to find the soldiers to get them opportunities. Our first level midfield of Cotchin, Martin, Deledio and Foley are very good. We just need more of them pushing us.

It's not all doom and gloom.

Back onto Fremantle, very good to see.
